We got our half cow a Few weeks ago and had chance to try various cuts. The meat is DELICIOUS! Price is also very reasonable for such a high quality. I could never go back to grocery stores anymore!

We are really pleased with our purchase of a full cow and so far the meat has been great. Service was excellent and friendly. Pricing was also more than fair and I am a fan of how the meat was packaged (we've purchased beef sides before and the packaging is not always as conveniently sized). We look forward to ordering from you again in the future. Thank you!

We are so happy whenever we eat Sonrise Ranch beef, every time we say, “this is so flavorful and it tastes so clean!” The beef is much leaner than conventional cows and we eat any of the fat included because it tastes so good and is healthy! You truly get what you pay for. You actually need less meat than what you’d have to buy in the supermarket because the meat is so nutrient dense, so in the end you’re not spending more money for better quality meat, you’re spending the same amount of money for more nutrients, plus you’re making a difference in the ecosystem because of the way this ranch operates to regenerate the land and allow the cows to graze the way they were naturally meant to. It makes me glad to hear that these cows lived a good life roaming the grass and allowing the grass to regrow for the next cow. I really enjoyed getting to know our rancher and where this beef comes from, I feel a sense of appreciation for the animal, the land, and the rancher every time I have a meal. This doesn’t happen when you just buy it from the grocery store and you have no idea where it came from or how it was raised (probably unhappy in a feed lot).

Keep in mind grass fed beef cooks much faster than conventional because it’s been dry aged and there is much less water in it. So don’t overcook your precious beef! Doug has you tube videos on how to cook a steak. And you probably want to decrease the cooking times or temperatures for the other cuts.

Son Rise ranch practices regenerative agriculture which not only is great for having grass fed grass finished beef, but also helps the soil and environment.

Their meat is priced reasonable and has some of the best tasting meat available in San Diego county.

I’ve had both the beef, heart, liver, and kidney from this ranch…all has had superior quality than other farms.

Healthy beef liver has a sweet taste to it and many places that sell it in the area don’t have this high quality taste.

For the best quality meat and organs, I recommend everyone come check out this ranch!

The meat is OK quality. I was a customer for years and was never thrilled with the price-to-quality, but continued to subscribe because I want an option for meat that is sustainable and humane.

Aside from the mediocre meat for a really high price, the customer service at this ranch is sorely lacking:
- Anecdote One: I had a delivery driver proselytize to me one day when delivering my box. Really.
- Anecdote Two: They repeatedly change their delivery paradigm with no input from their customers.
- Anecdote Three: They delivered a box once with no advance notice. Good thing I happened to be home, otherwise my box of expensive meat would have been sitting out in the sun, rotting for hours.

I am so glad there are many other options for high-quality humane meat in San Diego - these guys just aren't worth it.

Outstanding source for Beef & Poultry. I have tried several sources across the country and Son Rise Ranch has absolutely tender, fresh, and delicious beef & chicken! Very satisfied and I will never shop anywhere else. You can truly 'taste' the difference!

Started out pretty rocky with the whole pandemic and all going full steam ahead, but thanks to Justin our beef was delivered finally on time. Meaning delay after delay i got a hold of the driver on friday and he told me he wouldn’t be able to deliver until monday
This was after the owner told me i was scheduled for friday. I called in and Justin (very professionally) handled the situation and suddenly the driver appeared with our beef. So in the end it all turned out swell and i credit Doug and Justin with handling business. I will let you know how tasty the beef is in our next response. Seattle Sam

Gave me a call while he was on the road and because of that was unable to be as helpful as he needed to be. I asked if I could call during my break or schedule a phone appointment and he was unwilling to schedule an appointment and said he may not pick up if I call back during my break and to just look online, but I was unable to do that at the time because I cannot look things up while I am at work nor did I have a pen and paper on me. He wouldn’t email me either. I appreciate this is only run by a family and understand you are busy but not willing to even find time for a phone appointment and making calls off the seat of your pants isn’t being mutually respectful of customers’ times. We have busy lives too. If I wanted to order from a website I could have gone corporate. I like the idea of a family run business treating locals like neighbors, not being asked to google answers like corporations do.

I give 3 stars because info is available online, I asked for proportions suggestions and he gave it to me for what’s good per person (but said I would have to do the math of how much chicken total based on portions times number of people), and because supposedly the animals are free range and fed quality food. But I’m not ordering from them.
