Wonderful, helpful gardening resource for home gardeners in Contra Costa County. A demonstration garden on site, free gardening advice over the phone (M - TH 9 am - 12 noon), free Wednesday AM gardening classes (April -Oct), and can sign up to receive a monthly gardening email.

Many of the Master Gardeners Volunteers speak from their own personal gardening experiences living in the area.

There is a twice-a-year plant sale in the Spring for tomatoes, herbs, and vegetables at $3 each and in the Fall for perennials.

During the Spring they propagated 20,000 tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and vegetable (squashes, beans, asparagus, artichokes, eggplants, spinach, etc) plants for the Great Tomato Plant Sale. Many of the popular tomato plants sell out quickly.

Their Sales are very popular. You have to come early (Sale is from 10 am - 2 pm) for the best selection. People wait in line starting at 7:30 am to be sure to get what they are looking for.

Parking is free in the Shadelands Art Center parking lot. Cash or check only. The garden and sale are #HandicappedFriendly #DogFriendly #KidFriendly
