Stationed at the site of the historic Owl Cafe, El Milagro is nothing short of world class Mexican food specializing in guisados and these are some of the best we’ve eaten outside Mexico City. Dishes are exceptionally executed and served with hand made tortillas and savory mayacoba beans. The costillas in the bright tomatillo sauce was an absolute hit. My wife who’s vegetarian loved the papas con rajas. Staff are attentive and care deeply about providing the best service. Lovely outdoor seating, spacious interiors great for large groups.

Previously home to the iconic Owl Cafe, El Milagro is a great staple locally of good food served by great people. Plenty of selection for the entire family with prices that are appropriate for the food being served.

Service from the hostess and waiter were excellent! They were very friendly, attentive, and happy to make food recommendations. Food was excellent! I had the Mole Verde Pipian con Pollo and flautas. For dessert, lemon cake made by the Chef’s wife. Happy we stopped here on the way to the avenue of the giants.

The most incredibly tasty veggie burrito I have had in a long time. The sauce was amazing. The vegetables and beans/rice were so fresh. The server was so kind. Comfy booth seating. Lots of outdoor patio seating. Everything is very clean. Nice atmosphere, feels very homey. Love this place!

We’ve eaten at El Milagro two times now, and both times the food was excellent. The first time I had three tacos, each with a different kind of meat. The second time I tried the nachos with carnitas (pictured). Each meal tasted very fresh and wasn’t greasy like nachos can be at times. We also had the guacamole appetizer to go along with the chips and salsa, as well as a couple of the house margaritas. The prices fall in the $15-$25 range depending on what you order.

The service is excellent here as well. The waiters and waitresses are fast and very friendly, taking the time to check in and even chat with our children.

There is parking both along the street and in their parking lot located to the north of the restaurant. They offer both interior and exterior seating which is covered. The exterior seating also runs along with the street which in turn offers a nice breeze.

We will definitely be stopping here again the next time we pass through.

The flautas plate is my favorite, their salsa is also really nice and I always love warm chips. Something I didn’t realize is that they don’t have a liquor license (yet?) so the margaritas are not real margaritas- not a fan of the alcohol that’s used on those, but look forward to one day when they have tequila
