Received their BBQ sauce variety pack as a gift. About as good as cough syrup would have been and tasted similar. To be fair, this is distributed by MGF in Santa Ana, CA, but made in China. St Louis Style BBQ sauce shipped in from China can’t be super authentic. All 4 sample sauces were disgusting and ruined the Tri Tip I made. All my guests poured some on, all were grossed out. Shame on Modern Gourmet Foods.

Me mum knows I love hot sauce. Me mum doesn’t know or understand hot sauce herself. Me mum thinks ketchup is too spicy. So me mum bought me this gimmicky hot sauce gift set packaged for westerners but made in China. Then me mum shipped it to Southeast Asia where I live. This gift was payed for double over and a lot of pressure was riding on it from her perspective because me mum gives her wee heart when she gives a gift. I value honesty so when me mum asked what I thought I told her that I appreciated the thought but it tasted like salty cat urine with a hint of mosquito wing. Me mum’s wee heart was broken. The Modern Gourmet should be locked up for breaking me mum’s wee heart. Your global hot sauce gift set is worse than a soured haggis on the devil’s birthday.

Bought the Modern Gourmet Foods ten-pack of popcorn seasonings. Many flavors looked really appealing. After opening and using several flavors, we found it was just salt with no flavor whatsoever. Did the flavored seasoning powder somehow get overlooked in the manufacturing process?

My kids bought me this 5 pack of the swift burn hot sauces for Christmas. They were so excited, as was I.....to give me 5 new hot sauce flavors to try. They know how much I love hot sauce, and trying as many different kinds as possible.

So.....to say we are disappointed that there WASN'T 5 different kinds of sauces in this package, would be an understatement. Somehow, someone messed up the packaging of the products....and they put some of the same flavors into the different slot that was supposed to have a different flavor.

Example, they put the "garlic" flavor, into the "red chili" spot, and another bottle of garlic flavor into the garlic spot....etc. Instead of 5 new flavors to try (which the kids paid for within their own money).....we only received 3 new flavors to try, as they did the same thing with another flavor, and gave us 2 of the same flavors.

We are extremely disappointed with these oversights. I guess time will tell what kind of company this is.....and we'll wait back and see if they have a response to this mistake, or attempt to correct it or make it right for us.

I bought the cast iron skillet chocolate chip cookie kit. (I see on their website it retails for $17, on sale for $12. That's way too much. My package had a manufacturer's sticker of $6, but I bought it at Grocery Outlet for $3. It expires 11/23.) I bought it for the pan with low expectations because it was so cheap, but I did check out the ingredients to make sure it wasn't too nasty. It all looked legit: flour, sugar, real chocolate, egg powder, salt, plus a couple commercially ingredients, but nothing unusual.

I was a little disappointed with the skillet: it's smaller than expected and very shallow, plus it has a rough surface, so it will never be "non-stick" like a normal cast-iron skillet. (And after reading another review, it sounds like it's not formed like a normal iron skillet so that it's one solid piece, but rather it's that pressed metal "powder" that is not very strong and could break unexpectedly.)

The cookie itself mixed up easily enough with just 1.5 tablespoons of butter and 2 teaspoons of water. It was surprisingly tasty, not as good as homemade, but better than packaged cookies. It actually made the equivalent of 4 normal cookies.

Popcorn seasonings 10 pack- Awful! Do NOT waste your money. You'll be extremely disappointed. Sadly, we first tried the chilli lime flavour and I became very dizzy about 15 minutes after eating some. It was super salty and there is absolutely no flavoring in any of them. Youre paying $20 for cheap salt!!! Bought at Shopper's Drug Mart in Toronto. Will never buy any of their products especially after reading all the reviews.

Extreme Red and Ghost Pepper from them are amazing flavors, sad to see the negative reviews from others. That lends some explanation as to why this company's website is defunct and their sauces are being sold under different packaging/branding.

Would like to see larger bottles of Extreme Red and Ghost Pepper
