Awesome FUN! Beautiful flowers and plants. So many gorgeous varieties. Lots of help from the staff and owner. So educational. A must stop for any plant lovers. I ordered many plants to be shipped home. And I will be eagerly awaiting them. My best Hawaiian souvenir and memory.

I wish I’d spent more time at the Akatsuka Orchid Gardens but we were trying to catch a flight! I bought a “Volcano Sunset” orchid in July, which bloomed in January. It’s gorgeous. The staff packed up my orchid for the flight back to Northern California. This is a great, no-pressure-to-buy place to learn about orchid cultivation and view beautiful blooms. There is a gift shop and restrooms. The staff helped me choose a plant and answered all of my questions. Thank you, Akatsuka!

A beautiful showcase of years of work and creative displays. Thousands of orchids of all different varieties. Other unique plants as well. Considering orchids can be an expensive hobby, I was pleasantly surprised at their low in prices. Even the small gift shop was inexpensive with fun stuff, ie. a coconut bra (assorted cup sizes is smart and practical) with grass skirt. It's a must-see if you're headed up the mountain to Volcano!

Wow. I have a weakness for orchids, the ones I received are the best specimen I have ever received!! Immediately had to send photos to everyone I know to show the beautiful plants. Shipping was fast, packaging shows that Akatsuka truly cares for how customers receive their plants. I’m just blown away. Hope to buy more in the near future, don’t have the space but sure will work on making it for more of these beauties!!
