Nice place. Quiet and cozy to walk with kids. Many flowers and trees, but some places look unkempt… many fallen branches and dry plants from previous season. Fountains doesn’t work, but it is not a season yet, I think (April 22).

I visited last week when I saw this wad in the garden passport book and fairly near Morris Arboretum. Because this is on a campus, there was virtually no one there most of my visit. I did meet a gentleman who filled me in on their tornado devastation about 1 1/2 years ago. I did see many trees broken and a building with damage. I met a lovely gardener who clearly loved this place. There was a absolute hope in their voice for this place! I walked through every area. The greenhouse was so interesting and packed full of beautiful plants. I will visit again some day to see their progress.

Don’t go out of your way to visit the Ambler Arboretum as there isn’t much to see. It’s a nice place to walk if you are ok with just a walk with very little shade. The campus is desolate and practically abandoned in May so expect a quiet, slightly eerie, stroll. Plenty of places to park across the street but not a lot of places to sit for those who need a rest as they are walking. Remember your sunscreen!

The entire campus is a garden filled with great trees, artwork and beautiful flowers. Be sure to find the labyrinth and check out the potted tropicals near the greenhouse!

Beautiful campus arboretum walk on summer weekend with no one around. Parking lot 1 is right across the road from arboretum.

Glad I came out despite some the less than stellar reviews. There’s ongoing progress to repair damage from storms, adds to the charm for me. Visitors will want to park in Lot 2 off of Loop Drive. Register your car online and then your free to walk the gardens. The formal gardens were rather nostalgic for me as the smell of the peonies took me back to my childhood.
