I've been ordering plants from Annie's for about 7 years. Their plants are healthier and happier after coming through the mail than a lot of other nursery's are right off the shelf in retail. I particularly love Old Berkeley fuchsias, their succulents, and their "shop the garden" function on the website.

I really enjoy going to this place! So many beautiful flowers and they have a great selection of plants that you won't find in your regular big box stores or other nurseries. Pricing is also clear and tags are well marked.

I hope they reopen the nursery soon. It is a shame that locally owned small businesses like this cannot thrive in the Bay Area anymore.

Native plants. Edibles. Drought tolerant perennials. Always have something to offer. Ask questions. All the staff are very knowledgeable horticulturally 🧑‍🌾👩🏻‍🔬

Just received my first order with Annie's annuals. They were shipped out on the date promised and after traveling from CA to NC they arrived on time. The plants all look extremely healthy and the packaging is first rate. I do a lot of online plant ordering, and the pots and plants are bigger than I expected compared with other online plants companies.
Shipping isn't cheap from this company but a local gardener friend and I went in together and split the shipping costs which works out great.
Haven't removed anything from its pot yet but will update once I do.
Both my friend and I will definitely be ordering again.
Very happy gardener here!
EDIT:
Transplanted 3 of the 5 plants I received this afternoon. See photos; very happy with the root system on all 3. The ceanothus Skylark has less than the iris and hellebore, but just about right to plant in a gallon container to stay in my greenhouse while it's still chilly here.
Still a very happy gardener here 😁
Highly recommend.

Mailing plants can be tricky and postage is expensive, but usually it is worth it to get specific varieties that you can't find at local nurseries. I've been a loyal Annie's customer for years, but my last shipment was fraught with problems - plants were damaged in shipment, some had health issues, and some were just so darn small they shouldn't have been mailed out yet. It took time and tenacity, but I was able to work everything out with their customer support team and will continue to purchase from them in the future. Sometimes complaints are taken begrudgingly and other times they prove to be learning lessons for the company. I'm happy to say that in this case, Annie's truly rose to the occasion.

Best secret garden/shop in Richmond hands down! Community favorite, employee owned and they consistently provide high quality hard to find plants along with natives and traditional varieties for all needs. This location is a microcosm of plant diversity and a huge community building nexus in the Bay Area.

Wonderful place to be in the company of plants, be amazed by their variety, buy them and give them a new home, and potentially meet other plant lovers!! We spent around 2 hours exploring and it was a lot of fun. There’s ample parking and the staff is super helpful.

I’m thankful for Annie’s!
