So long story short i work in hoboken & eating out every day adds up so i go to the buffet they have at aspen market, this afternoon went in and as i was putting the pasta in the container I noticed something unusual thinking its mushrooms just to find out its a mouse!!!! The workers there didn't seem to care about the situation and threw the rat out and kept the food that it was sitting, be careful people when you buy your meats and vegetables keep In mind mice most likely have been playing around it

Some one went there yesterday and found a mouse in the food. The staff didn't throw out the food .... just the mouse. Do what you want with this information.

There’s nothing wrong with a high-end grocery store. In fact, a well-curated market can be a thing of beauty—a haven for chefs, home cooks, and anyone who cares about what they put on their plate. But Aspen Marketplace? It’s the kind of place that wants to be that but doesn’t put in the work.

At first glance, everything seems in order. Shelves lined with imported olive oils, a selection of cheeses that looks promising, a deli counter that, in theory, should deliver something worth eating. But then you start looking closer. That cheese? Not exactly fresh. That prosciutto? Sliced with all the finesse of a dull axe. And then there’s the hot bar—a sad, lukewarm collection of overpriced, uninspired slop that looks like it’s been sitting out since yesterday, which, judging by the crusted-over edges of the trays, might not be far from the truth.

There’s an unspoken contract when you step into a place like this: if you’re going to charge top dollar, you damn well better deliver quality. Instead, Aspen offers you dry, bland prepared foods and produce that seems to wilt the moment you get it home. And let’s talk about the service—if you enjoy being ignored by a group of employees who clearly have better things to do, you’re in luck.

At the end of the day, food is about care. About attention to detail. About not letting a hot bar turn into a petri dish. Aspen Marketplace doesn’t seem to understand that, which makes it nothing more than an overpriced disappointment.

This is where my family purchased groceries during the pandemic. The doors open directly to the outside so the ventilation is excellent. They have very fresh fruit and baked goods such as bread, cookies and cakes. The sushi and prepared foods are restaurant quality, and they have a nice selection of gourmet groceries including cheese, pasta and olives.

This is a great neighborhood convenient grocery store. Always has very fresh produce. I’ve never had it but the hot bar every day also always looks very solid. They have a very fun assortment for drinks/snacks/candy from international vendors which is fun to see things not traditional to domestic grocery chains. Obviously a little pricier than day shop rite but you’re not meant to do all your shopping here, I buy my fill in pieces like produce so it’s fresh for meals instead of when I do my bulk. I recommend for all those purposes

Wonderful selection of items I can’t find anywhere else, like watercress and British marmalade. Everything fresh and well presented. Thank you Aspen!

Clear as day.... they need to be shut down. Between the Decades of bird crap on the outside awning, the expired steaks in the back and outrageous prices. Now we have mice in the buffet. Someone please close this place forever.

A mouse in the buffet is unfathomably and incomprehensibly foul and deters me from ever wanting to shop at this overpriced establishment again. The Whole Foods cannot come to Hoboken quickly enough.
