Ballast Point in Long Beach is an absolute waterfront paradise! Perched right on the marina, this place offers stunning views of the water, boats, and the iconic Queen Mary in the distance. Whether you’re sitting on their spacious outdoor patio or inside by the floor-to-ceiling windows, the scenery is unbeatable—especially at sunset.

The beer selection is, of course, legendary. As one of San Diego’s most beloved breweries, Ballast Point delivers with a wide range of craft brews, from their classic Sculpin IPA to unique small-batch creations. I tried the Grapefruit Sculpin, and it was crisp, refreshing, and perfect for sipping by the water.

But it’s not just about the beer—the food here is fantastic too! The fish tacos were fresh and flavorful, with just the right amount of crunch, and the Ballast Point Burger was juicy and packed with flavor. The menu has something for everyone, from seafood lovers to burger enthusiasts, and everything pairs perfectly with their brews.

The vibe is laid-back and welcoming, making it the ideal spot to relax with friends, enjoy a date night, or just soak in the Long Beach waterfront energy. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the overall great experience.

If you’re in Long Beach, Ballast Point is a must-visit. Great beer, delicious food, and an unbeatable view—what more could you ask for?

This is such a cool place with a great view. Its excellent for groups. The service is okay everyone is nice but very laid back if that makes sense. The seating is first come first serve. They don't seem to come around a lot. I ordered the yummy burger I wish there was an area to add what condiments you'd like. I also ordered the parmesan fries sooooo fire. The prices are affordable. Can't wait to go back and try other food and beer.

The property is in an awesome location. Unfortunately, the building looks like it’s in disrepair. The amazing view is obscured by dirty windows. There was a water leak in the ceiling that’s repaired with ply wood. The furniture is peeling. The outdoor seating was closed at lunchtime.

Good pub food and good beer.

Good place with amazing view, but service is not good and not friendly at all, at least with our experience. We had very long waiting time to get a table, another long time to order and they didn't serve everything was ordered.
Enjoy your visit. And for us, every time we see this place, we go away from it.

This 5-Star review is mainly for the location and the beers. Spectacular views from its spot on the harbor channel! Ballast Point brews are excellent especially their famous Sculpin collection. The food is what you would expect at a brewery. It’s pretty good and freshly made to order.

Ordering is done from your phone using a QR code and online menu system. Food and drinks are then brought to your table. Otherwise the servers/food runners are happy to provide anything else you might need.

This is just a perfect spot to enjoy a Southern California afternoon!

We're in town for a wedding and went about to find some great breweries in the area. Found this roomy, waterfront place easily, ordering with the QR codes was a BREEZE and the view was spectacular - particularly when the sailboats came in for the evening.

We're from craft beerland Colorado, and these beers were great! I had a wit style and my bf had a few IPAs and we enjoyed them all. Solid brewing.

The food was boooomb. The Birria Quesatacos were OUTSTANDING, with tender meat and delicious birria. We also had the peach pizza, a flatbread style, and while I couldn't really taste any jalapeno honey, it was still delightful.

It's an echo chamber inside and people stand around to socialize, which makes for a crowded floor - not the restaurants fault, just the nature of things. Not a lot of shade on the patio, so we moved inside. Still a great experience for us tourists.

BIRRIA tacos were fire. Rest of our party had fish of some kind and it wasn't the best. Beers and the atmosphere were great! The table we sat at was sticky, not dirty. Just not ideal for sweaty drinks.

Worst Customer Service Experience in the USA

I placed an order using the QR code and paid with Apple Pay, but the system showed an error. However, the money was still deducted from my account. When I spoke to the manager, C. Johnson, she admitted that this happens frequently but insisted that I pay again if I wanted my food. Even after I showed proof that the payment went through, she refused to help.

Instead of offering a solution or at least showing some understanding, she simply told me to wait a few days and hope the money would be refunded – despite knowing that I was leaving on Sunday. If a business expects trust from its customers, it should be willing to give the same trust in return. Instead, my concern was completely dismissed.

I’m from Germany and have always praised the excellent customer service in the USA – but this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Good customer service means solving problems, not pushing them onto the customer. Extremely disappointing!
