Have you ever eaten at BBQ Ranch on Rt 11, Harrisonburg Va? If not , well you should because Their food is delicious especially Their "Pork BBQ Sandwiches" served for the last 80 years. I ordered a BBQ pork sandwich platter that had the sandwich, fries, fresh hushpuppies ( the bomb!) & a cup of homemade coleslaw ( its so good ).
They have collected every kind of glass pig figures 🐖 that you can imagine, and They're everywhere inside ... Their collection is truly a sight to see !! If you want to add to the collection, just tell your waitress for many visitors do.

Per a resident's recommendation, I tried this small, rustic, locally-owned run restaurant with excellent service and yummy home-cooked food. The milkshake was to die for! The roast beef was tender and came with a rich homemade gravy. I had to buy a jar of BBQ sauce made in-house after trying the brisket sandwich.

Our experience at BBQ Ranch was deeply disappointing. The restaurant felt dirty and poorly maintained, which immediately set the wrong tone for our meal. Unfortunately, the food didn’t make up for it.

The BBQ was subpar—easily the worst I’ve had in a long time. The fries, mozzarella sticks, and even the chicken nuggets all tasted like they were straight from a grocery store freezer section. The mac and cheese seemed like it came from a can and lacked any real flavor or effort.

For a bill totaling over $100 for four adults and three small kids, I expected far better quality and portion sizes. It felt like we paid premium prices for bargain-bin food.

The only saving grace would have been our waitress. She was friendly and attentive at first, but unfortunately disappeared toward the end of our visit. We had to go up front to request refills, boxes, and even our check.

Overall, BBQ Ranch was a letdown from start to finish. With so many great BBQ options out there, I can’t recommend this place. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

This place is one of a kind very nice and welcoming staff the atmosphere is amazing. The BBQ is great the only thing is that the all sides seems to be frozen prefabricated and deep fried

Had the BBQ Brisket Sandwhich, Fries, Coleslaw and a side salad.
The bread wasn’t the freshest and toasting it didn’t help, there was more sauce then meat on the sandwhich. It was ok but nothing great. Standard frozen string fries and the coleslaw probably was from a can. Croutons and cheese would of made the salad better. I have to say the sweat tea was the highlight of the meal.

As I didn’t give high remarks but I didn’t give it low ones either. I can tell this place is worth a try. I will try the Pork BBQ next time.

Another Mom and Pop, hidden gem. The tomato based Bar-B-Q sauce is excellent! I had the Brisket Sandwich with baked beans, coleslaw, and hush puppies. My wife had the Bar-B-Q pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and mac and cheese. The food was delicious, the prices were unbelievable. The cute little dining room takes you back to a time when life was simple and sweet. It has a cozy feel and very friendly staff. This is a road trip must see. It is a short walk from the Pilot truck stop off I-81 Exit 251. Follow me for more Mom and Pop, Hidden Gems all throughout the country.

Better than fast food and close to 81, so still a “win” in my book. However, this is NOT smoked bbq. We got the brisket plate and the “bar-b-q” plate. Brisket was decent and saucy. Pulled pork was cooked in a crockpot, which is fine unless you are expecting real smoked bbq. Spicy fries are the Curley type and were right out of the frier -yum

Service was fast and friendly. Atmosphere was old-timey, as promised.
