Berkeley Hort is an expansive nursery filled with a large selection of trees, plants, herbs, seeds, soil, succulents, tools, and more. The inventory includes lots of native plants, with a greater emphasis on outdoor inventory. For such a large nursery, it is very well organized and the plants are well taken care of. The selection includes many plants that are rare in other nurseries. It's a bit on the expensive side.

What an amazing hidden gem at Berkeley!! ?✨?
I LOVE this gardening shop so much☺️
They have a lot of different types of plants, flowers, tools, merchandise, pots, hangers, soils, and some cute crafts (such as tote bags, hats, cards, etc.)

Their staff are also very nice and knowledgeable. It may take a while to get someone because they don’t have a lot of staff, but also they would spend time to answer your questions!

They have a restroom for customers to use, and it’s very clean! There’s also a cute fountain in the middle of the outdoor garden area. Moreover, there’s a chalkboard near the entrance showing their weekend special sales and discounts!
If you need anything for your garden, indoor planting, or just want to wander around and vining with plants, this is definitely a great place for you to visit!?

this nursery has a wide variety of houseplants, shrubs, tools, and so much more. the staff are always so knowledgeable and friendly. the prices are average, but the plants are always in tip top shape.

Even if you're not planning to buy any plants or soil products, you should check out Berkeley Horticultural Nursery anyways.

Huge offerings of pretty much every type of plant out there, including a massive succulent and cactus section.

About 30+ types of maple trees, endless varietals of fruits and vegetables, decorative aquatic plants, ground cover, you name it.

Prices are not super cheap, but they're also not outrageous, and some stuff is rather competitive.

Don't forget to check out all the carnivorous plants!

Incredibly knowledgeable staff encyclopedic knowledge of planting. Tremendous selection of different plants - vegetables, flowers, seeds, trees, you name it. They also sell tools, pots, fertilizer, books, etc.

Tastefully arranged. Great resource. It's almost soothing coming here like it's a zen garden. I really enjoy this place.

We loved it here! There’s a large selection of outdoor plants and a fairly good selection of indoor plants. The plants all look well taken care of. I did see an old review stating that children under 12 aren’t allowed but we had no trouble visiting with our 7 year old. Very nice staff as well.

This iconic nursery was founded in 1922 and is still going strong . They have a wonderful selection of plants, houseplants, fruit trees and California native plant varieties. It is well laid out and makes for an enjoyable plant shopping experience. They also sell a nice selection of gardening tools, planters, pots, vases and fountains. They also sell gardening soils , seeds and fertilizers. The staff is friendly, helpful and experienced. I deducted a partial star due to their very poorly organized check out procedure which created long checkout times.
