Went to this magical place today! I say magical because I felt like everything outside of this place dissolved away. Great vibes, great offerings, yummy food. Art meets gardens meets all the good things. I look forward to going back there.

We worked with David at Calgo this summer, and he created the designs to transform our front yard from just grass, to the gardens of our dreams, filled with native, perennial, pollinator plants and butterfly gardens! He was an absolute pleasure to work with, from the very start to finish, and we've hired them to do regular maintenance when it's needed as well.

He was so knowledgeable on the latest ideas and plant/tree species in landscaping for wildlife, and he really listened to what was important to us, and created the designs to make it a reality. The pricing was very upfront, itemized, negotiable and fair. The entire project, gardens, stone walls, river rock paths and flag stone firepit area surpassed our expectations!! It's really changed the way our family uses our yard, and we're so grateful we found them! We'll absolutely be using them going forward!!

I was delighted with the unexpected here. It's not just a garden center but also an outdoor home art-deco center carrying lots of unique and one of a kind pieces.
Employees here love their jobs and their affection for plants shows.
The restaurant serves my kind of coffee - strong. Though it's a bottomless serving I could like like but one cup. The crumb cake I had with it was simply perfect. Service was friendly and cordial. Outdoors of the restaurant is a mini paradise.
My disappointments were:
1. Landscaper reserved much of the impatiens and other flowers and shrubs.
2. The quantity and variety of veggie garden plants appeared quite minimal and a number of tomato plants already had blight.
I was here on May 17th.

Fell in love with the place as soon as we pulled into the parking lot and then pleasantly got lost within. Brimming with much to see and discover, it's a treasure trove of plants and surprising finds!

**The plants I bought from here have been the healthiest, most bountiful, most beautiful plants I have gotten in this area in the past 5 years! **

They told me all about the things they sell & it was all so cool, I spent an hour shopping in store & around the gardens. Been wanting to stop in here for a while. Happened on it a few weeks back on a Sunday and spent a few hours by myself just strolling through picking up a few little things and being wonderfully inspired. Returned today with my cousin and friend and stroll, the grounds a bit admiring the beautiful grounds. We decided to sit and have a bite because we were starving in the little café. Beautifully decorated and such a nice atmosphere.

We were a bit disappointed in the greeting.. There was a lovely young girl Stephanie, who had just started and kindly directed us to a table as she was Clearly in between a number of tables Outside and inside. There were three of us and when we got to the table, there was just two chairs. . So I went over to a nearby table that had five And took one over to our table. A very abrupt assuming is the owner of the café quickly came over and corrected That the chair was for a five top and I wasn’t to move it. She again abruptly, returned the chair to the empty Table . She then went and took a chair from a couples table that had an extra chair. Exact same type of chair.

OK was that simple she could’ve just done that from the beginning and not been rude and condescending to guests. It was quite offputting to the least, as I stood there in the spot that I clearly was putting the chair and she proceeded to put it down in front of the Silverware and everything that we had just moved to the empty spot and walked away. Needless to say it put a Bad taste in our mouth to start. The 5 top table stayed empty for an hour after we got there.

Stephanie waited on us and was very good and they were clearly quite busy because it took just About an hour for us to get our two sandwiches in front of us.

The food was very good And fresh and clearly they take their time putting it all together.
By the time we left, they were quite a number of tables that seemingly one new server was handling with some help from The owner or whoever she was.

Everyone else seem quite friendly and happy to be there And went out of their way to be friendly. Not sure if it was just a bad day in the café, but it certainly was uncalled for.

We definitely will be back, but also felt the need to share Our experience after reading one or two of the other reviews.

Beautiful place to just disappear for a little while.

FREEHOLD: Brie had such a fun time at the Calgo Gardens Bark Bash event to support Associated Humane Tinton Falls. There were over 50 local and crafty vendors selling their goods and it was enjoyable to walk around while checking out the gift auction, adoptable dogs, food trucks, pet portraits, live music, and seeing Brie's friends! It was a great way to raise awareness for the animal rescue and all the services they provide out of Tinton Falls and Forked River. We especially loved being able to give name suggestions for the next litter of kittens.

Calgo's grounds are gorgeous and there is a cute gift shop and yurt structure and leashed and friendly dogs are allowed and it is a peaceful place to take a stroll and buy something for your garden. They host other events and festivals throughout the year.
