Freshly roasted coffee, What more is there to say. Ok, I'll try to say more. First, try the mini doughnuts, you have to try the mini doughnuts, Oh, so tasty.

The staff are welcoming and friendly. I could have stopped and talk for a while, yes, that friendly.

The entrance doesn't look like an entrance, don't be afraid just walk in there. All the way to the end and on the left is the counter. The place to sit is outside. Great place, I can't wait to visit again.

Delicious cortado on the cozy corner porch. Couldn’t sit inside and not sure about restrooms or anything, but still a great cup and the banana bread was great too!

Maybe I’m corrupted by Starbucks but this tiny 8oz espresso was $7. I’m sorry but for $7 I can go get a venti flat-white at Starbucks with three or four shots of espresso. $7 for one shot of espresso with some steamed milk is absurd. I love supporting local business and I try to but I mean this is ridiculous. I guess if you are a coffee aficionado maybe this place is for you but for the regular everyday person, there’s better options.

had an iced coffee and saw they had sugar free syrups, so added a splash of SF caramel and it was the perfect addition to a delicious iced coffee. enjoyed the patio for a bit and soaked up the weather.

finally the best coffee in hawaii. it's a shame that I don't put the coffee in a mug but in a paper cup and the cafe is close to a busy street, but otherwise there's nothing to complain about. service perfect. ice cream, maybe even better than what we have in Europe.

Nice little coffee spot, friendly service and great outdoor seating area.
They do a selection of food too - all in the fridge cabinet; some items served cold (salads etc) and others are heated up for you.
Coffee was great, as was the muffin.
They have an in-store roastery so they know their stuff, and beans are great!

Coffee here’s always great - I’ve been going here for years and the quality never diminishes. One thing I will say since moving to their “newer” corner location is that I’m disappointed with the layout of the shop. When they moved in to the corner location I assumed the awkward narrow hallway where you line up, order your coffee, wait, and then squeeze back to the front of the line to grab your coffee (that is, if you can even hear your name being called) was just a temporary configuration while they worked out the kinks of their layout. They’ve been at this location for over a year now and it appears that there is no effort to change from this layout. It’s a bit upsetting for me as a local because I feel like most of the space at this location is taken up by their tasting room, which in my opinion is an activity more geared toward tourists. It kind of feels like the locals and everyday coffee drinkers are squeezed to the side to give a more grand experience for those who pay more. Although I love their coffee, this isn’t really a place where I can grab a coffee to-go on the way to work anymore because the order and pickup process is really just uncomfortable for me.

I was prompted to write this review when I saw someone else complain about it and realized I wasn’t the only one who had thoughts. Maybe they’ll put more effort into a comfortable layout if they hear more honest feedback from customers. Still giving them 5 stars though because they are probably one of the top two coffee places in Kailua and definitely the best coffee on this block in particular.

We’ve been going to ChadLou’s Coffee Roasters for years, and I’m heartbroken to write this. I was shocked and deeply disappointed to find them listed on PublicSquare, a platform that actively promotes businesses that are anti-LGBTQIA+, anti-immigrant, anti-women’s rights, opposed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and supportive of Christian nationalism and efforts to undermine inclusive public education.

As someone who cares deeply about human rights, I would never knowingly support a business that aligns with those values. I feel betrayed to learn I’ve been giving my money to a company associated with a platform rooted in exclusion and hate.

It’s important to me to support businesses that reflect my values. I won’t be coming back.
