Tommy and our ~2 hour tour were great.

My wife and I, along with our 7-year-old, took an afternoon farm tour. Tommy was great interacting with our boy while going through the process with my wife and I. He answered questions, provided insight, was very personable, and we simply just had a good time on our trip. Would've gladly enjoyed spending another ~hour just on the river with the scenery, but the experience was fantastic overall.

Definitely enjoyed and recommend his services for a uniquely fun, family learning experience. Be sure to add some brews for the onboard oyster tasting, and grab yourself a dozen oysters or clams from him while you're at it.

Highly recommended! Thanks again!

My boyfriend spent a morning with Tommy while on a week long Virginia Oyster Trail tour. We very much enjoyed our time with him. We learned a lot about the oyster industry. He was very generous with answering our questions. We loved that he allowed us to get our hands dirty and he put us to work! It was a great time.

This was a great tour! Perfect amount of time, hands on experience, and of course eating a bunch of fresh oysters. We got a lesson on oyster farming from a true master of his craft. I’d highly recommend! It was also great to find out he ships oysters and steamers!

My girlfriend and I planned a trip to Virginia during their oyster month (November) and saw Chessie Oyster Farm Tours on the Virginia Oyster Trail Website. We came across Chessie Tours and contacted them about doing a tour. Tommy was quick to respond and booked a 2 person oyster tour. While on our way to Virginia we picked up a book called "A Geography of Oysters: The Connoisseur's Guide to Oyster Eating in North America" As we went through the book we noticed Tommy's name come up several times as one of the members of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) where he established and ran the Virginia Oyster Restoration Center. We knew we were in good hands. On the day of our tour we drove to Chessie Farms (driveway on his property backed onto the water) where he met us. He went through the history of whole oyster industry, the oyster aquaculture process and sustainability. We then boarded the boat and became "watermen" for an hour. His passion about the industry was amazing. Everything he did was to ensure long term sustainability while also delivering in our opinion the best and freshest oysters we had on our trip. This is a must-do tour for anyone in the area!

Great oysters! Shipped to my home in Florida , the oysters arrived in perfect shape, I enjoy the plump, wet buttery taste profile.
