The chicken really is the go-to dish here. Smoky, tender, juicy, with a skin that was respected in the smoker. The ribs were tender but not stand out, and the beef and pork and sides were meh. They'd run short of the beef and asked us if it would be okay to put more chicken in our combo and it was really the right choice! We got the combo but I'd go back for the chicken.

The service was great and the owner was really wonderful. Great service. And the atmosphere was lovely, laid back, open air. With a great view. We had on and off rain, but there was just enough cover for a comfortable stay. It was right next to the road, and a very short walk into town.

If you are craving delicious barbecue, don't hesitate.

I am from France, and I believe French rotisserie cooks have a lot to learn, and American barbecue cooks need to learn from this place.

The BBQ chicken and ribs were excellent. Their homemade sauce rivals any BBQ on the mainland. Love the tangy flavor. The owner is a super cool guy! This place is a must go!

Great price for great portions. Chicken and ribs were charred to perfection! Best BBQ sauce I’ve ever had. Definitely recommended. Outdoor seating with plenty of napkins and silverware ready to go. Outdoor sink for washing up. 11/10 no doubts.

Side of the road? No beer? Roadside and not drowning in tourists? Who cares if you love some great smoke bbq meats. I couldn’t believe the ribs were pork they were so meaty. They were so good my partner orders a half rack and clumsy resist taking another sampler platter to go. The chili could use some extra flavoring but I like deep heat and spices so I can appreciate they made this for the masses and not for me.

A special shout out to Keoni for taking care of us and laughing each time we turned around to order more while making us feel like we were getting served from a long time friend at a backyard bbq.

Chicken In A Barrel was a terrific find. Prices aren’t cheap but it was good. Where to start.. clearly the quarter chicken was the best. It was piping hot, moist, and delicious. You eat here for the chicken! No question.

At first I thought the baby back ribs were dry and too lean but then realized it was just the first piece. The rest of it was juicy and had some fat. And their homemade baked beans with bits of meat was awesome.

We had one more dish: the pulled pork was juicy and fresh.

Both plate lunches came with the beans and dirty rice. There are five picnic tables in the shade. And the owner and worker were really nice to chat with.

One last pro tip: the BBQ sauce is incredible! Both the regular and spicy. I may come back again later this trip!
