I don’t see how they allow this place to be
Open and charge full price when everything is dead and or dying. I have never went to a park or garden in my young 30 years of traveling and wanted a refund. We spent approximately 15 mins here and left. The “beautiful” water was dirty and not even running. Only thing that was alive was some heads of lettuce in the back. I could see this place being beautiful in the spring and maybe worth $12. But will not be returning for that.

Wonderful experience to get the kiddos out of the house. The formal gardens are well tended with identifying markers for most plants. Water features and seating spaces make for beautiful photo opportunities. The trail gets a bit bumpy from the tree roots, but our kids still loved it.
UPDATE: there are new admission requirements at the garden. We'll worth it, especially if you buy the family membership!

We were passing through the area and decided to visit this place because it had lots of great reviews and pictures online.
We bought our tickets and went in... only to find that EVERYTHING inside was either dead, dying or closed. Allow me to correct myself, there were five heads of lettuce that were still clinging to life, but that's about it.

This place looked like a wasteland (word that one of the administrators seemed to took offense with, but I'd let my pictures speak for themselves).

It looked more like the location for a Fallout picture session or a Walking Dead episode than a "lush and bountiful garden". You don't have to believe my words... just look at the pictures.

Since there was nothing to do or see inside, we turned around and asked for a refund, only to be told "no refunds whatsoever" which for me is unbelievable given the situation. Still, I came back home and tried again with upper management.

This time, I received the most condescending reply possible. Just to give you a small sample of the way their reply was worded: It seems that "It is unfortunate that you were not pleased with our offerings" and then went ahead with three full paragraphs self congratulating themselves about how magnificent their garden is at other times; which is meaningless to me as I just witnessed dead plants.
Again: Look at the pictures. Would you call that "magnificent"?
Long story short: They ended their reply with "we do not issue refunds"

They really must need the money.

That phrase still circles my thoughts.... "It is unfortunate that you were not pleased with our offerings" I just can't fathom how can they say that with a straight face. Do you think there's somebody out there that wouldn't be upset to be charged $30 to see what I just showed you?

They also told me that they just passed a hard freeze and that is the reason for the current state of the garden... um... so... if you know it looks bad then why do you keep charging for it?
If I had a zoo and all my animals died I wouldn't be charging an admission fee as I have nothing to show.

For all the people that will say "oh, but this place is beautiful in (any other date)" I believe you, but I am not arguing that. I'm just telling you that as of today, the place is HORRIBLE and it is a travesty that not only they charge for an entry fee when there's nothing to see, but being so shameless as to refuse a refund request when they know its current state.

I'll finish this review with the same line I used on my final reply to them:

Hope everything grows back again so you won't charge people for nothing like you did with me

Not worth the $12 they charge adults. This garden is very small and you will see the entirety of it in under an hour. My kids were bored. Well maintained, but not worth the price compared to other FREE botanical gardens across the country. Skip this one.

Small Gardens but beautiful. It's very hot literally some days 95 degrees and their flowers are just vibrant and healthy. You can tell they take pride in the care of this area. 10.00 adults and 5.00 kids to 17. 10.00 is a lil much if it's more than one adult. If the prices were a lil lower i would most definitely bring some of my adult friends. Nevertheless it's still a nice place.

What an incredibly wonderful place. Even tho it occupies a small plot of space; for now, there are long range plans of expanding. There is a huge variety of plants and flowers to see and learn about, especially since they will grow within the conditions found in Columbus. The cottage garden had some very fragrant flowers in bloom today. The herb garden had just about every herb/spice to view. There is a vegetable garden and the produce harvested is donated to local charities and food banks. The space where the melons were growing, on a hillside, was the best use of land. A very well-thought out use of space everywhere. There's even a 1-mile trail away from the plantings to enjoy more nature. When you come, please bring a book to add to the cute little library next to the parking area. A gem of a space in Columbus not to be missed!

Just stopped by the Columbus Botanical Garden for a little peace and quiet. It was a little hot this day but the scenery made me forget all about the heat. The sound of the birds, along with the water features, created a calming experience. I had not visited the Columbus Botanical Garden in some time but I was pleased by all the changes, plenty of seating and place to escape to if you want alone time to meditate. The space also looks great for events and parties. If you have found this review helpful, like and share the review. You can follow me too! Thanks and have a great day!

I use to love coming here once a month but I can’t justify the price for me and my family. I understand some type of admission maybe $3-$5 for everyone but higher than that is to much. It’s small, always some type of construction and it makes it unaffordable depending on size of your family.
