Such a relaxing, positive place to have some coffee or tea and a bite to eat. I had a maple waffle latte which was delicious! Not overly sweet and just enough. Also had rainbow cookies which I was surprised to find out were gluten free! The best I’ve had! Person working there was informative and personable and was actually a high school student. Another positive for me was that my coffee was not blazing hot. So, if you like very hot coffee I’d ask for it to be warmer. As you can see from the photos, the atmosphere is great, too. Some nights have live music and things that I will be checking out!

Had to seat myself, serve myself water. Young lady had the sack to tell us we should have made a reservation. Then I was served 2 of the worst cappuccinos I’ve ever seen in my life. The Morris county jail commissary offers packets of instant cappuccino at .70 cents a packet that are better than this. Utensils which I had to ask for were dirty. The food was disgusting. They served the person I came with and told me my waffle would be right out. I had seen a review which stated the best waffle they had ever had in their life so I was patient. 20 minutes later I was told the waffle machine just broke. I had already paid for my food before I sat. Strange was for a pastry shop to moonlight as a restaurant but hey. I went with the pancakes. The rawest doughiest mush showed up another ten minutes later which I wouldn’t even dare put in my mouth. I hands down have to say this was the worst dining experience I have ever had in my entire 44 years on this earth. I was refunded the 13 dollars for the pancakes but not the rest of the bill and the 2 cups of foam I recieved. I read all the reviews and realized that these are friends of the establishment leaving 5 star reviews. This is why I never trust ratings. They should be ashamed.

Defying Gravitea defies my beliefs about what gluten-free can be! 🤯🤯🤯

I don’t even know what to say. My wife primarily eats gluten-free, and we ventured here for the atmosphere (you can actually have a conversation here, unlike other cafés).

Little did I know I was about to experience one of the greatest waffles OF MY LIFE.

You must try the waffle. The exterior is deliciously crisp, while the inside has this lovely contrasting texture—satisfying with every. Single. Bite.

The turkey bacon, egg, and cheese? Fantastic.

And the breakfast crêpe with house-made Goffle Farm chicken breast sausage crumbles, egg whites, and farm-fresh spinach? OUTRAGEOUS.

As someone who maybe has too little a problem with pasta and gluten, this place defies what gluten-free can be.

This place is truly a 5/5. From the staff to the food to the ambiance; everything is perfect. You walk in and you instantly feel warm and comfortable. They have an incredible selection of teas and even cute mocktails! Beyond the drinks, the food is not only incredible but consistently on point! The good morning Gina and waffle are two of my many favorites. On top of all of that you get the added bonus of supporting a strong woman owned business as well as eating food that is good for you! I always leave with a full belly but even fuller heart. Grateful to have found such an amazing place!

As a person who suffers from Celiac, this place is one of my favorite places to eat, the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cookie was amazing! I would recommend going here if you have to eat GF. Its cozy and themed feel definitely sells this place as a great lunch/snack option. And the best part…. EVERYTHING is GF! Last time that happened to me was when I went to some random fast food area. But this food is treats. Also why does like everyone call it “defying gravit-e-a” like what? But this is a great place to hang out and eat. I loved it so much. Also the service was great 😊

Defying Gravitea has become one of our absolute favorite spots! If you love gluten-free food (or even if you don’t), this place is a game-changer. The food is incredible—some of the best gluten-free dishes I've ever tasted, and you honestly can't even tell it’s gluten-free! Nora is obsessed with their egg-free waffles, and as a mom with a daughter who has an egg allergy, it’s such a relief to find something so delicious and safe for her to enjoy. The staff here is amazing—always so warm and friendly, they truly make every visit feel special. The atmosphere is super family-friendly, and the events like trivia and music nights make it even more fun. We always leave with full bellies and big smiles! Can’t recommend this place enough!

I absolutely adore this place.
I needed a pick-me-up this morning after a rough week and was greeted kindly by who I’m assuming is either the manager or owner.

I love a good cappuccino and theirs is wonderful on its own (with oat milk is my preference). I also ordered their avocado toast (on gf bread), which was so delicious.

It’s comforting to know that a place like this, one that takes care of those with special dietary restrictions, exists in my own neighborhood.

While there, I couldn’t help but overhear the same woman who so kindly greeted me earlier, mention a one-star review to her co-worker. Though I didn’t say anything then, I encourage both her and those wanting to try this place to look beyond it & towards at all the amazing 5-stars they receive regularly. Defying Gravitea is unlike any other cafe in the area and for so many wonderful reasons.

This cafe is a true gem. The scones are out of this world delicious! As is the coffee. We ordered an iced oatmilk latte that rivaled nyc’s. Top quality beans for sure. Def won’t disappoint! The owner & staff are also so friendly & welcoming. They truly make you feel at home in their beautiful cafe. Super sweetly decorated with lots of comfortable seating. Don’t sleep on this spot, it’s AMAZING!
