Nice selection of native plants, in good shape. It's not a very service oriented place—they're only open a few hours on Fridays, not much signage, it's a cash business, and their inventory online isn't really up to date. However, this is reflected in their low prices, which made it worth the hassle to me. Also they had healthy plants with new growth on them which is what matters most to me. It has the vibe of a place that sells to the trade or experienced gardeners. I thought it was a good find, but kind of like a hidden/rough gem.

Pete and his crew transformed my weed-choked backyard filled with bricks and boards into an oasis. They did the work quickly and efficiently and in four days I was looking out on a beautiful landscape filled with 24 native plants. Thanks so much for restoring my backyard.

This place is awesome! They have a great selection of healthy plants and a wide variety of manzanitas. The staff are really nice and the customers were really helpful with advice too. You can tell people who come here are passionate about native plants. They take Zelle in addition to cash and check.

The staff at East Bay Wilds know everything about California native plants and they are fantastic to work with. Pete designed our front and back yards and I absolutely love the result. I spend at least 1-2 hours in the yard every day now enjoying all of the flowers and wildlife. I didn’t know how many native bees there were, and I love all the different types of bumble bees. I’ve had new types of birds that visit too. It’s given me such joy! I highly recommend East Bay Wilds!!!

One of the best native plant nurseries in the Bay Area. Pete is one of the most knowledgeable native plant enthusiasts I know. His inventory includes many plants he and his crew propagated and also includes varieties he has introduced to the nursery trade. Also, plants generally are quite healthy and better than what is sold elsewhere. His website offers a useful spreadsheet inventory on what is currently in stock, but best to call / text him to verify before you go. Prices are reasonable - often less expensive than larger nurseries in Berkeley or on the peninsula.

I was really excited about this place being in the neighborhood and being near me. I went there to support the local business over the big box store for my garden. They had some people making larger purchases there and I was not. They made me wait quite awhile and put me off when asking for prices. I was trying to buy stuff from them and I felt like my business wasn’t at all wanted. I waited but in the end I left without ever Hearing the price of what I was buying or making a purchase . This was such a weird interaction , Im honestly kind of shocked. The stuff in this nursery costs what it is worth, so the purchase I was intending to make was a lot of money in total . I don’t know why they treated me this way. As an aside, I heard someone over the phone using the phrase “inner city” to describe the nursery while I was there. This was kind of insensitive and made me feel like locals are not welcome here. I have the sort of money where I can afford large purchases at your establishment, so that wasn’t it. I was given the impression that this place is not targeting local clientele and good relationships with neighbors. I am going to personally try to support a different local business next time. I gave three stars because I liked their high quality products and their nice plants. Totally would have spent a lot of money there over time if they let me.

Got a couple natives. They have California natives but many if not most are not locally native to the bay area so people should be mindful of that. Nice selection though. They could have been more helpful with what I wanted (local natives for containers that will flower and seed in container), i got 2 recommendations but then they attended to something else and seemed busy with tasks so I only asked once. Cute place. I think they're focused on landscaping and the nursery is secondary. Check native here nursery or watershed nursery for strictly local natives.

The owner of East Bay Wilds was very responsive to my native plant question. Appreciate that he often participates in the CA Native Plant Society events, helping to educate others. Prices are among the best around for native plants, and online inventory list is very easy to use. Unique offerings at this nursery!
