Lovely spot! Beautiful in the spring as things open up and start to bloom! Parking is relatively easy during the week but could be tricky on the weekends.

The kids play are is awesome, a magical fairy land with a storybook trail and lots of interactive play. Bridges, ponds, gravel trails, lots of outdoor magical play!

This is my favorite place on campus, period. The arboretum is a lovely, quiet getaway from the busy Harrisonburg area. The staff is so kind, and I adore interacting with the more quiet side of nature as I walk through the 3-mile trails the arboretum offers. Love this place, so well cared for.

This is my second visit to this botanical garden. Every time I come, I feel that the lake is the biggest highlight. The surrounding trees, small bridges, and lawns combine to create a paradise on earth.

Walking through the woods is very pleasant; every path is carefully designed and well-maintained, with useful information provided about many of the plants.

Parking is limited. You can park at the R5 parking lot of the school (GPS: R5 parking JMU), and there is a path leading directly to the botanical garden.

This was a very nice arboretum. The trails and plants and building areas are very well kept. It is also dog friendly, which my Corgi boys enjoyed. We enjoyed our walk around the property and checking out the plants and trees.

Nice place for a walk. Get to see a variety of trees, plants and flowers. They provide a map of the arboretum but it is still difficult to determine where you are at certain points. Better signage along the trails would help with knowing where you are. It would be nice to make a larger area with a hard surface and no stairs to make it more accessible.

Absolutely beautiful! I wish we had more places close to us like this. It is truly special and an amazing place. Beautiful flowers, greenery and trees. Upkept paths and landscaping. It was so relaxing and inspiring walking through. Definitely a must. I’d be here regularly if I lived close.

Visited again on our next trip and it is still such a great place to come. Active workers are always keeping up the gardens and paths. Kids enjoyed the interactive playground area.

This was a lovely little nature walk and a great way to spend a day near Massanutten. Admission is free, and the trails are full of great landscaping, lovely plants, and there's a large playground area to keep kids entertained.

It's incredibly well-kept and well-maintained. You should check it out if you're in the area.
