This used to be a review about how the proprietor picked out the papayas for us and they were rotten. I was WRONG. We cut them open and found that squishy papayas are not rotten, they are delicious. Recommended.

Super expensive fruits are sold here and the quality isn’t great either.
Absolutely avoid this fruit stand. You can buy same fruits for 1/4th of price from big save mart.

Extremely kind Chinese gentleman waved us down as we were driving down the freeway from Waimea Canyon, enticing us with his hands full of ripe papayas. We couldn’t resist and we’re so glad we stopped. Divinely sweet papayas and mangos which he cut up for us to eat on the spot when we asked. All grown right on his farm. Highly recommend!

Wow. Insanely high prices for soursop. Likely for pineapples too.
Mangos ($8-10/ea), bananas ($5-6/bunch), and papayas (3/$10 or 4/$10) about comparable to other fruit stands.
Go early for fresher options.
Interesting: both fruit stands we stopped by today are run by Chinese. Wonder where they're sourcing their produce from...

If you are in the area, this is the best place to get fresh and ripe papaya! Very reasonably priced and the owners are very friendly and welcoming. There are other fruits for sale too, though papaya is the primary good since the stand is sitting on a papaya patch.

The fruits we tried were nice, but a) the fruits are overpriced and you almost get forced to buy. And b) the fruit we bought was unripe and not anyway near the quality we got offered before.
