Gingerhill is a wonderful place to stay! I loved being so close to nature. Before I booked I was nervous about how safe it would be to stay in a platform tent as a solo traveler, but I felt totally relaxed and secure my whole time there. The staff are friendly and always available to help, and I loved meeting the friendly cats that roam the property! Also, they have goats! How awesome is that?

This place was so wonderful. We stayed in the bamboo cabin and loved it so much. So much better than staying at a resort, at least for us. The outdoor shower was delightful and we loved spending time on our little patio. The grounds are gorgeous, there are fruit trees and chickens and goats and kitties. We had total privacy and the hosts and staff were very responsive to all of our needs. It felt very safe and secure. Would definitely recommend this place.

I stayed here only one night but could easily stayed here a week or longer. I loved my stay in Gingerhill Farm Retreat. Staying in a very nice yurt, in the middle of nature/green/birds and beautiful flowers. Stunning view from the terrace in the communal kitchen on the ocean/sunset. Also very friendly atmosphere.

updated review When I originally booked at Ginger Hill there was a miscommunication. In the end they did their best to make sure I was taken care of. I stayed again in the jungle cabin and the space is beautiful and well thought of. The hosts were responsive and kind. Very peaceful and relaxing. Overall a great experience I would recommend if you’re looking for a jungle escape from town.

Ginger Hill was a lovely stay, situated in a paradise atmosphere with comfortable amenities. The folks working here are friendly and quite knowledgeable of the area’s flora and fauna. The Bamboo Cabin was particularly nice with bonus cats that came to visit.

This is such a beautiful and sacred space!
The sunsets are incredible!! I loved arriving to fresh picked fruit, and a clean and comfortable tent! Everyone was very kind and friendly! It was nice to have beach towels, beach chairs and snorkel gear available to use too. Amazing to have lots of space and solitude in paradise. A perfect place for a sabbatical or a retreat!

My husband and I stayed in the Sunset Suite for 10 nights for our honeymoon. We wanted time together away from everyone and this was the perfect place to do it. As gardeners from Missouri we were very interested in all the botanicals on site. They were well maintained and beautiful. The entire farm is tidy, but not overly manicured to the point of feeling unnatural.

I am sure the hosts sensed we were enjoying our privacy and they allowed us to have it. There were quiet zones on the property and for the most part at night all you heard was nature around you.

Do not come here searching for high end amenities, as you will not find them. There is no air conditioning, microwaves or television. But what you will find is a stunning landscape, a deeper connection to nature, and a sense of peace you will not find anywhere else. If we ever visit the big island again, we will know exactly where to book!

Me and my Fiancé spontaneously found Gingerhill Farm and it quickly stole our hearts. We stayed in the Jungle Canopy; a cozy glamping tent for two. It felt both humble and luxurious being surrounded by jungle foliage and animals. It had a kitchenette and bathroom inside with an outdoor shower. It was very private and peaceful! We cooked twice a day, walked the property, and made friends with other visitors. We highly recommend staying at this beautiful and thoughtful retreat! Just be prepared with food; the closest grocery store is a mile and half walk. Other than that, they have everything you need.
