Short drive from Washington DC and is a well maintained state park. A few viewpoints at the falls and there were benches for people to sit down and rest around them. Accessible for children and elderly if you donโ€™t go far. Worth visiting.

Amazing place to enjoy nature , you can hike around the trail but be careful with the kids. You can also start your hike from the river bend bark and enter the great falls. The picnic area is very big and you would find food trucks during the weekend. There is 20 dollars entry fee if you are not a national parks pass holder.

Great Falls Park is a good place for walking and picnic. A beautiful view of falls. There are three outlooks to view the river and falls, but the second one gives a better view than others. The Visitors gallery is closed now a days.

Went here with the family. So so beautiful. My favorite trails are the billygoat and gold mine trail. The gold mine trail will take you mostly uphill but eventually when you get to the top you can see the water and its so beautiful. I love this park so much.

Great Falls Park is a stunning natural escape just outside Washington, D.C. The park offers breathtaking views of the Potomac River, with several vantage points along well-maintained trails. The falls themselves are beautiful, especially against the blue skies, and the surrounding woods are perfect for a peaceful hike. The visitor center was closed during my visit (December 2024).

Amazing place you can ask for near the busiest working hub. Great to spend quality family time. Itโ€™s peaceful with good rapids, waterfalls and has great trail for hiking and walking. And visiting in fall makes it even more beautiful with scenery. Must visit if you like nature, adventure and walk on top of it it has great visitor centre. I recommend getting annual pass if you are frequently visiting here.

I would recommend this family friendly hike. Very beautiful scenery and easy trails. Just be mindful of the nonexistent phone service out there if you do a ride share situation. You may want to preschedule your pick up prior to being dropped off.
