Place is great! Friendly and have a great selection of meats, beans and other treats. My daughter loved seeing freshly hatched poults and will enjoy the apple sauce we picked up. Also very convenient off of 89 and everything was self-service.Enjoyed stopping here and will be back, next time with my cooler so I can bring back more.

We stayed at the Farmhouse Inn (2 adults, 3 kids) and enjoyed the comfortable accommodations, especially the high tech fireplace and fully stocked gourmet kitchen. ||||The food available from the farm was delicious and made it very convenient to cook meals at the house. ||||The farm is about 30 minutes from Sugarbush and Mad River Glen ski areas - an easy drive when the roads are clear. Thanks to the perfect cold weather and warm hospitality, the weekend was very memorable.

We checked in late one February night to a warm, beautifully appointed home. The masonry heating fireplace (what a showpiece!) had been lit earlier in the evening prior to our arrival – what a welcome! The home has been so thoughtfully designed – there is an ease to the layout and an attention to detail with what is provided to guests. The gourmet kitchen is well stocked with cooking appliances and accoutrements. The farmhouse itself is very spacious – our two families enjoyed cooking together and catching up in the dining room & family room and then retiring to our separate private quarters. Mari and Laura were so wonderful to connect with - we all enjoyed our farm tour and the kids especially loved sledding and collecting eggs from the chickens. We are just now finishing off the last of our farmstand goodies and hope to return soon for another visit. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My 14 year old granddaughter & I stayed here in October 2014, when the 'Fall' was spectacular. Spacious and comfortable accommodation in the barn loft, complete with a basket of homemade goodies. Mari and Laura were great hosts (even lending me a camera charger for the rest of my holiday-thanks Laura). We enjoyed helping Mari with many of the farm activities, feeding the goats, pigs, and turkeys, milking the goats and collecting eggs, all of which were a great experience for my city-raised granddaughter. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend a stay here for those wanting to experience farm life.

My family of 3 had a wonderful time at this farm. The Green Mountain Girls - Mari and Laura - are an inspiring pair. I loved that they are so dedicated to sustainable methods of farming. They are also extremely thoughtful hosts. My 5 year old son had a ball helping out with the poults (adorable fluffy baby turkeys), chasing frogs and butterflies by the pond and participating in the "pig parade" (moving the pigs to a new grazing/living area.) The view of the mountains from the farm is stunning. The barn accommodations are charming, extremely clean and comfortable. We were greeted with fresh flowers in every room.. and a fridge full of beautiful vegetables, eggs and salsas. The farm store below was stocked with all kinds of delicious local foods.||||Highlights of our stay included a tour with Mari of the gardens and livestock. She answered all of my geeky gardening questions. A cooking class with Laura - we made blueberry lavender sorbet. (with ingredients from the farm!) Yum. A swim in the lake at the nearby "floating bridge." An incredibly scenic drive from the farm to the Black Krim Tavern in Randoph. And the strawberry festival at the Montpelier farmers market.||||We came for the weekend... uncertain about what to expect... and fell in love. I asked my son what his favorite part of the trip was, and he replied without hesitation, "the farmers." I'm pretty sure we'll be back again.

This is actually a review of the property as presented in early spring of 2011. We have since moved to the area, have visited the property recently and things are much the same, if not improved.||||The Green Mountain Girls run a diversified omnivore CSA (Community Supported Agriculture enterprise), and rent lodging as well. They also charge extra for farm "experiences", whether private tours or milking goats or cooking demonstrations. Those offerings change with the seasons and are also negotiable, so it's worth enquiring if that sort of thing might interest you.||||The basic lodging offering we took advantage of was renting the entire barn (sort of, because the animals still occupied a part of it). This structure is quite large, three stories, and houses the farm store, some animal shelter, as well as a huge open space with large corner kitchen that was at our disposal. The third, top, floor had a large main bedroom in addition to some smaller spaces that could be used for families or groups to bed down, but which were not traditional bedrooms per se. We went at a rather chilly and muddy time of year, but the views and setting were still enchanting.||||Everything was kept perfectly clean and in order, despite the proximity to the animals. There was no animal odor, if that might worry you. One thing to be aware of, though, is that the barn lodging boasts a composting toilet. No fear, there are simple instructions. The rest of the space is "normal" American standard plumbing: sinks, dishwasher.. and there is a regular fridge and stove for your use. Rather than being served a prepared breakfast, you will find "fixings" in the fridge: maple syrup, pancake mix, fresh raw goats' milk, bacon, eggs. etc... Coffee and tea. There may have been muffins but I forget..||||The rate for just us two was on the expensive side, because the space was effectively quite large. With the flat rate, larger groups could have gotten a better deal. I'm not sure if there is an upper limit, but you could have slept at least six, I think, on mattresses, and more if you got creative.||||Since our stay, there has been another very nice house built on the property which may be available depending on the season. It's definitely a more traditional accommodation, but still close to the farm activities. ||||It's hard to know what to put for "location", because it is really a destination in itself. The proprietors are eager to please and to answer any questions about the land, the animals, and the enterprise.

Great place for a visit or a stay! The owners are wonderful, friendly and helpful; the farm is run to be environmentally friendly, using traditional techniques to eliminate the need for pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Get eggs, meat and a good variety of produce all year round!
