Great newsletter, much improved. Check your spelling " Boats vs Boasts". I have been associated with this market for 14 years as it's host (twice) and as a Board Member. The Hakalau Farmers Market & Food Share is much more that just a 'market', it is the Spirit of the Hamakau Coast & Aloha. Never let it fade away, it is a great asset to our community and society.

Best Pad Thai I've ever had. Amazing lychees, tingling flowers (toothache plant), kale, pastries from Marina - this place is the most peaceful farmers market one can find. Do go and help the community - it's a win win.

This little market is one not to miss if you want a taste of the Hāmakua life. Bring cash!! thereʻs no internet there to process payments, (but there is an ebt table where folks can get coins to spend from the card balance - make those gov $$ go hyper local!). Family friendly, all vendors sell local produce and products, no costco flippers allowed! Music, craft activites, art, games and local foods, including lots of amazing gf vegan options.

This is a legit farmers market with actual local produce. No repackaged stuff from Costco like the big markets in Hilo and Kona, just a nice variety of whatever is in season and grown nearby. There is also some really tasty Thai food!
