We kept hearing about Harrisonburg's down town, but it is just a couple of galleries, a public library and a few historical stops. We were walking around on a Tuesday maybe more would be going during the "First Friday' events.

There are some gems here, like a lot of local craft breweries, local restaurants, and local shops. Not very big but it looks better than it did a decade ago. A lot of the places have been renovated and don't look as dilapidated anymore. Walkable area, along with nightlife, and seasonal events.

Downtown Harrisonburg is very walkable and it’s a beautiful area to walk around. There are plenty of little shops to go visit and many great little restaurants! Downtown Harrisonburg always smells absolutely delicious! And twice a week there’s a farmers market where you can park and walk and take in all of the unique and also delicious foods that are sold there as well as trinkets, soaps, gifts, etc.

I started to get involved with Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance earlier this year as a volunteer for some of their amazing event! I was immediately welcomed and embraced by an amazing community. I love volunteering for rocktown festival and the downtown dinner party.
