Its Free.. And a very Beautiful, Beautiful place very popular. There's a lot of parking spots all around. Perfect for pictures. Nice area for a picnic. There's a walk that leads you to a nice lake where you can see ducks and fish. I would suggest to bring a blanket snacks for a picnic. You can dress how you wish the walk does not require hiking shoes. I wore my cute sandals.

Absolutely beautiful natural forest with camping and picnic areas. Drove through during a cloudy and lightly drizzling day. We got there about 40 minutes before closing so just two short walks. Just loved the lush beauty with the cloud covered mountain backdrop.

What a beautiful botanical garden. You can drive the entire park and or walk on the many trails throughout the park. It feels like you're driving thru Jurassic Park with all the vegetation and the towering mountains. Most of the walks are on paved walkways. There are many places to park and lots of bathrooms so picnics here would be wonderful. You can take a walk to the lake and the trail begins at the education center and is easy to find. This is a must do while in Oahu and is fairly close to Byodo Temple which is also breathtaking.

Should be on the list of the best free things to do in hawaii. There are miles of trails with the trees and plants labeled according to species and organized by region. The staff at the education center have plenty of maps and recommendations depending on how much time you have available and what you want to see. There's also fantastic displays and presentations there. You can drive and walk at your own space and spend the entire day seeing everything.

A Beautiful and Relaxing Experience

We visited Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden yesterday with our daughter, Maddison, and had an absolutely amazing time! The entire place is breathtaking, with stunning views of the lush greenery and towering mountains in the background.

One of the highlights for us was seeing the fish and birds, which made the visit even more special. We even spotted a ferret, which was such a cool surprise! The garden has well-maintained walking paths, making it a great place to explore on foot. We also took a scenic drive through the park, which was just as enjoyable as walking the trails.

Overall, this was a wonderful, peaceful, and family-friendly experience. If you’re in Oahu, this is a must-visit spot for nature lovers! We will definitely be back.

This was our second visit to the Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden in two years, and once again, it did not disappoint. The garden remains as stunning and impressive as the first time. The location is free for both locals and tourists, which is a huge bonus, though it can get crowded quickly, especially during peak hours.

One of the highlights is the peaceful lake, which is just a short 10-15 minute walk from the parking lot. The trail to the lake is easy to navigate, though be prepared for some muddy spots, especially after rain. It’s a great spot to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

Whether you're passing through by car or planning a small walk, I highly recommend a visit to this serene and lush garden. It’s a perfect place to reconnect with nature and take in the scenic views. A must-see spot on Oahu!
