After a lot of research (thanks for the prompt email responses), I decided a HLG 135W QB V2 RSpec (kit) was the best light in class (~2.4 µmol/J) for my needs, a 2.5x2.5 sqft space.

The kit arrived, quickly, and securely packaged. I followed the online build instructions which were simple to follow. I examined each piece of the kit and the build quality (pre-drilled holes, etc) was top notch. Before you know it I had my kit built and working.

The Meanwell HLG-120H-54A driver is dimable. It can go down to ~20w and up to nearly 170w. I recommend special LED glasses if you dial the light up, it's VERY bright. I measured bright light in every corner of my space so the footprint advice is accurate.

The plants I have placed underneath have reacted very well with lots of vigour, which has surprised even my elevated expectation. Those 16 Osram deep red diodes really do make a difference in flowering coupled with the 272 LM301B's. Not much heat produced, and what is, is easily distributed by the efficient slate.

So, in summary, me and my plants are very happy with the equipment & service. The plants love the light produced, and I love the more than halving of my electricity bill. A win-win. I'm so glad my research has paid off and I highly recommend this kit & HLG UK Europe / HLG to others.

I have always had my doubts about led tech but the last year or so have seen some improvements that cannot be ignored anymore. I choose HLG because I think they have the best design and I love the fact that it's modular, it's dimmable and you save money on electric.
