This is one of our favorite wineries to taste at. The location is gorgeous and the sparkling wines are incredible. We used to be wine club members and I miss our regular shipments. It may feel out of the way but it really isn’t. It’s definitely worth it to make a tasting reservation to enjoy some sparkling wine on the property. Another bonus is that they waive the testing fee if you purchase 3 bottles.

This one is off the road and a bit hard to find if you don't have good directions or maps. It's well worth it if you are wanting to relax and take your time with a glass of wine as the view here is excellent. We were as excited by the wines ourselves but if you are in the mood for softer wines or light sparkling wines this could be perfect for you.

We never skip Iron Horse while in Sonoma!!! One of the best tasting experiences I’ve ever had!

Such a tasty assortment of wines; I love a set with some bubbly !! There’s a rich history here too, ask them about when the president drank some of the wine!

You couldn’t ask for a more lovely setting. I recommend doing the tasting then heading over to the picnic tables and having an extra glass !

Absolutely fabulous sparkling wine maker just outside Santa Rosa. This was our first visit and we were so happy to be introduced to their delicious sparkling wines. We had a wonderful tasting room host in Danae and enjoyed our time. Make sure to have a reservation and make sure to ask about the history of this winery and their link to the White House. Beautiful setting - beautiful wine. Can’t go wrong.

I had the pleasure of attending a tasting at Iron Horse during my daughter's Bachelorette Party. Kevin was knowledgeable and personable and each of the gals enjoyed the variety of cuvee sampled and the entire experience!
I would highly recommend a stop at Iron Horse Winery during your time in Sonoma!

We had the sparking wine flights yesterday. You need to make a reservation before coming in. There were some unique and classic champaign blends which elevated our Saturday morning. Carl told us stories behind why and when these were made. It felt like we were invited to a family event. It was peaceful, authentic, and delightful. We were escorted to do wine tastings in the outdoor area where we could embrace the endless vineyard view. I just wished there were some small food though.

If you are wanting to visit a less commercialize, family-run winery in Northern California wine country, definitely make a wine tasting reservation at Iron Horse. The place is small, intimate, with very friendly, knowledgeable, attentive wine tasting staff.

The views are breathtakingly beautiful, with rolling vines to look at. Quiet, peaceful.

It is wonderful Iron Horse makes three types of wines from only the grapes grown on their estate, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and their signature Sparkling Wines. Not all wineries do this. So great place to visit if you have limited wine tasting time.

Cost to sample is $30 for 5 "flights" of wine. Need to call or go online ahead to make a tasting reservation. We tried the sparkling wines and pinots. The day we went we were served a 6th sparkling wine "2013 Gratitude" which was nice.

Bring friends so you can try all three types and some snacks. Iron Horse does not serve food, only water from a self-serve water dispenser or come after eating a meal. The wine tasting will hit you. The pours are generous. Can easily spend 2+ hours here, taking time to sober up before getting back into your car.

If your party uses a wheelchair or walker, there is designated handicapped parking in the big lot and next to the first red building. Surface is flat. Easy to roll or walk.

Only two minuses - only service dogs are allowed to visit and there is no diaper changing table in the one unisex restroom.
