Convinced the winery to let us pop in to buy a couple bottles when they were closed (on the recommendation of another wine snob we met during our last trip who loves a lot of the same wines that I do). A couple months later, I opened a 2014 pinot noir and it knocked my socks off. What a great recommendation. The price is a STEAL for the quality. I'm upset that I only bought a few bottles. I'm so glad that we squeezed that quick visit into our trip. There's nothing fancy about their tasting room, as someone mentioned. I don't go to wine country for the tasting rooms, I go for the wine. While I'm there, I'm mission-focused on finding great wines to drink back home with friends and family. Since I didn't have the opportunity to do a tasting, this will definitely be at the top of the list for my next visit. Two months later, I can't remember the name of the young man that let the six knuckleheads from Louisiana bomb in on their closed day, but thank you for giving us the chance!

Joseph Swan has always been and still is my favorite winery! I have bottles that they made from their estate going back to 1968! I have never had a bad bottle. I started drinking bottles from my cellar just in this century. I have enjoyed immensely every vintage of Chardonnay, Pinot noir and zinfandel that I have tasted. I always share the older vintages with friends and every taster has always been astonished at their beauty and longevity. I can't wait to share more bottles. Unfortunately,I have not opened any bottles from the last century since the beginning of the pandemic. I can wait, knowing that they will never disappoint me, no matter how long I have to wait to enjoy them. And they are still producing great wines in every vintage! Their tasting room follows all the necessary protocols and they are some of the most hospitable in the business! Enjoy!

My favorite California winery! The folks over there are super nice, down to earth and master Craftsmen. Delicious Pinot and a wide variety of other wines like Tannat, Chardonnay, Gewurtztraminer. They are a step above and reasonably priced too, given the quality of their product. They have kept craftsmanship and meticulous, thoughtful winemaking at heart, and it shows.

Delicious Pinot Noir wines at a price that can't be beat. Their wines hold up at any price, but at $30ish a bottle, it's a steal. Friendly staff and winemakers and a super convenient location close to Santa Rosa on the way to Russian River make this a must-visit. You won't regret it.

The tasting experience here is... okay. The trouble is, the neighbors are tripping over themselves to achieve outstanding results, and those efforts make for tough competition.

The tasting was very fast paced. No information was given on the varietals, the tasting notes, the terroir, what each vintage was like. There was no passion in the bottle, none in the glass, and none in the tasting room. For such a storied, long-tenured winery, we were surprised to find no "story", no sense of wanting to share their history or philosophy.

Maybe it was just an off day, but I'm not sure I'd venture back here to find out.

Excellent Pinot. By far one of the best I have had. 2012 Cuvée De Trois was very good. Subsequent years have been good but, not as good as the 2012.
Delivery is Ok. They can do better.
