An old school vibe outside, with classic plates and cheese burgers. The order is placed thru a window but no peaking. It’s hard to tell what’s going on in the kitchen honestly. The delicious smells were a selling point and when the bag of food came out it was perfect. Things are slow moving from ordering line to order up, but it will get there. Funny thing, they accidentally lost our order. They were kind and apologized for the mixup and offered a treat or side dish too. It happens. šŸ¤™

Keep your eye out for this understated lunch stop and you will be pleased you did. Feel like a neighborhood spot for sure. šŸ‘

This is as local as it gets. Order at the window, which doesn't seem open. The shaved ice is huge and delicious, it hit the spot after a long hike! Feel free to mix flavors. The milkshakes are also delicious.

My family and I have been coming here for years and Kenekes never disappoints (at least with the shaved ice). Kenekes shaved ice comes in large servings, is relatively cheap, and always a perfect snack after a long day on the beach. With that in mind I couldn’t recommend their other food. I got the tuna melt and the tuna was so liquidy it was almost falling out of the sandwich as I ate it. My girlfriend got a cheeseburger and we didn’t realize it was an extra $0.99 charge to have toppings. What kind of burger comes with just meat cheese and a bun? We also shared a large garlic fry that to be honest I don’t know how to explain the quality. They were not cooked well and had essentially no flavor. We had to throw them out. Overall it’s definitely worth stopping by to try the shaved ice but I would recommend eating elsewhere.

Got everything I could have ever wanted in Hawaiian fare cuisine. Platters were huge, delicious, and well priced. Staff was friendly and the vibes were great.

Keneke’s Hawaiian Restaurant is an absolute GEM on Kalanianaā€˜ole Hwy! If you're looking for authentic, delicious, and budget-friendly Hawaiian comfort food, this is THE spot.

I ordered the kids plate with Kailua pork, rice, and mac salad—and let me tell you, the portion was HUGE! I’m a grown adult, and it was enough for two meals. Where else can you find that kind of value these days?! The pork was tender and flavorful, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the mac salad? Creamy, classic, and just how it should be.

But what really makes Keneke’s stand out is their unbeatable combination of great prices, incredible food, and amazing people. This is a family-owned, locally-run business, and it shows in every bite. No touristy hype—just real food at real prices, served with aloha.

If you're anywhere near the area, skip the overpriced spots and eat here. Support local, eat well, and leave happy (and full!). Five stars all day!

Big plate lunches for reasonable prices. The building itself could use some upkeep but usually the best places do. We enjoyed everything we got unfortunately they were out of some of the meat options I wanted to try that day. Both pork options I got just melted in your mouth. Mac salad was very solid as well. Had multiple meals for leftovers as well. The guy working the front of the house was friendly. Got it to go and sat in our car by the beach to eat as it was raining out.

Food was just OK (except pasta salad which was stellar Hawaiian!). Wait was long. Good selection and lots of seating although all the tables were dirty. Was not busy when I arrived, but picked up by the time we left. I wanted to give 3.5 stars but Google wouldn't let me. Not the best food but ok for a stop of you're hungry.
