Lagoon 4 at Kona Beach is such a vibe! This spot is public (the other lagoons are for resort guests), so it’s a family-friendly hub with lots of kids and tourists. The water is super clear, but because of the crowd it attracts, it can get a little dirty—just something to keep in mind. You can’t go out too far because it’s partially blocked off, but the views are still chef’s kiss. Bonus: I saw people fishing on the high rocks, which was cool to watch!

Parking? A bit of a game of luck. I was the third car in line, so I lucked out, but some days you might pull up to find 10+ cars ahead of you. The free parking system is basically “wait until someone leaves,” so prepare for a little patience if it’s a busy day.

Overall, this beach is top-tier. Perfect for families, fun for the kids, and just a really good time. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

This was a beautiful spot, great for families or if you just want to come spend the day. There were restrooms nearby. It was idyllic! It was a little cove and just beyond beautiful. Absolutely worth going to spend time there.

Nice place to go to avoid high surf in the winter. Very family friendly with shade trees and grassy areas. Clean restrooms and outdoor showers available. One of my favorite places to visit.

This little hidden gem of a public swimming area of the beach. There’s a park, trails, and many beach entrances. This is a hidden within one of the lagoons by the resorts many entrances. I believe it was lagoon 6 or 7. Also there’s critters just out in the public doing it with no shame. The beach itself is pretty shallow for long while, then gets deeper, then closed off at the end with just a little gap for the waves to push through. Water was about 72 degrees when we went March 16, 2024. There’s rocks to find sea life, clear enough to watch fish swim by you, and shells, corral to snag to take home. Lots and lots of parking too.

Perfect spot to enjoy a peaceful swim at sunset. Lagoon is protected, no waves, not a ton of people. Great grassy areas, clean, decent sand. Spot to rinse off.

The Ko Olina Beach Park Wallking Trail is a beautifully paved path that is accommodating to everyone. The path runs in front of all of the resorts and lagoons. The path is easy to navigate for walkers, joggers, bicyclists and those requiring wheelchairs and or scooters. The trail is wide enough that noone is crowded. The trail leads to the marina and jetty where you can fish and watch the boat. This trail has benches and restrooms all along it. The trail is very easy to navigate.

We enjoyed the calm waters. Good place to try out snorkel gear, but not too many fish to see. Great place to bring children to swim.
