Great in-house rum tour (online reservations required). Different rums sampled on different days so pick the one(s) you like. The adjoining shop and adjacent restaurant (reservations recommended) make for a convenient trip. The Happy Hour menu is very-well priced and contains nice options.
Other on-site tours are available.
A nice little stop and worth the trip.

Fun spot you definitely need to fit into your schedule. Will not take up too much time and well worth it. You do need to make an online reservation for the tasting. Tasting is free, and it was $5 for the online reservation process. Worth it! You make a fun drink and they do change which rums are sampled. They are excellent. The gal that ran our tasting was fun and energetic. Very informative to the story of the company and all the rums they offer. You can purchase from them their BUT they cannot ship. This is a state law from what I understand. Go early in your trip so you can enjoy the rum while on the island. You can purchase them on the mainland. Beautiful grounds and a train ride around the property is also available. Did not ride the train but it looked fun. Highly recommend the tasting and picking up some libations for your stay. They give great ideas of what drinks to make.

Rum tasting selection was good - a small amount of most types is poured. More interesting for me was our hostess described rum in everyday cooking.
I ended up buying a sampler selection at the store - giving me a better tasting of all the varieties. Store has some pretty cool gift items.

I don’t like being around people but the rum tour is something I’d do again! The guys that give the tours are the best tour guides I have ever experienced. They made everything fun and interesting! Book The Tour!!!!!!!

Koloa Rum; Rum tasting was amazing! After going on their website, we decided to reserve a time to do Rum tasting, which was $5.00 for our group. We showed up 20 minutes pior to our time, showed Driver’s Licenses’, then looked in the shop and walked around outside. 5 Minutes prior we lined up outside the Taste Testing room. Nicole endured everyone was there, as we walked on, she advised us what Koloa Rum Keg we were to stand at. You stand behind/around it for the testing. Nicole is Amazing!! She tells you all about the Rum, gives samples, then talks about recipes as wrll! She has an upcoming Cookbook coming out soon! The tasting was amazing, Koloa Rum is a quality delicious product!
After the Tasting, we went into the store. They have Rum and carry home containers- so you can transport a bottle or 2 home! There is clothing,Koloa Rum glasses, shot glasses, food, mini-Rum bottles! It’s a fun little store! Packed full of amazing merchandise!!!!! OH, their new, Koloa Cane Fire Rum is just cinnamon-y Deliciousness, right along with my favorites; Chocolate and Coffee!!!!!

Second time here. Great tasting! Our host was outstanding in knowledge and then the perfect salesman on how to buy their products. Just an fyi you can buy the majority of their products on island and Costco has a VERY good price on their most expensive bottle. I loved that our host shared drink recipes and how he called his kitchen his “lab” for mixing drinks 🙂

Always a gem! The products (rum and other drink options) offered are always super quality. The tasting requires reservations and check-in ahead of time. The staff in the shop as well as the tasting are all fantastic and knew everything to do with their products.

Please be sure to be there on time, because they're not messing around. Get there late and you're gonna be met with a locked door to the tasting room.

We absolutely loved it! Our rum tasting was awesome. The host was very knowledgeable and explained a lot of history behind everything. He also shared some great recipes that I would love to share, but I will not be sharing the photos of his recipes. I feel that would take away from experiencing it yourself. They have other things to do on the property as well. For instance, restaurants, candy shop (fresh made taffy), boutique shop, art room, and flower shop. They also have a safari rum run ( I would recommend booking at least a week in advance).
