We absolutely loved the experience we had at Christian's shop! One of the highlights was being able to do an actual tasting. It felt more like an intimate gathering than a typical shopping experience, which made it all the more special. The smaller, cozier space of the shop created a quaint and homey atmosphere that was inviting and comfortable.

I was particularly impressed by the personal touch in all of our communications. Christian took the time to get to know us, listening to our preferences and making thoughtful suggestions based on what we liked. His professionalism was evident throughout the process. It really set the tone for a seamless experience.

What stood out most was the palpable passion that Christian has for his craft. You could feel it in every detail, from how he prepared the samples to the way he spoke about the flavors and combinations. It was clear that this isn’t just a job for him; it's a true labor of love. This enthusiasm made us feel excited and confident about our choices.

Additionally, I was thrilled with how Christian took our custom requests without any hesitation. He listened carefully to our needs and nailed exactly what we were hoping for! It was so refreshing to work with someone who genuinely wanted to accommodate our vision.

Overall, the combination of a charming environment, personalized service, and Christian’s evident passion made for a delightful experience that we will always cherish. I would highly recommend visiting his shop to anyone looking for not just great products, but also a wonderful, heartwarming experience.

Christian and his team did an amazing job. My husband and I wanted to have a brownie cake at our wedding (and surprisingly that was harder to find than I expected). I reached out to Krumbs Cake and Christian responded promptly with the excitement to create a brownie cake for us (for the first time). We went in for a tasting and everybody was super kind and excited to create a brownie cake for the wedding. They really listened to us and did such an amazing job. We got a three tiered brownie cake with salted caramel on the top for just my husband and I to cut. For the guests we had sheet cake brownie made as 3x4 inch brownies with a dollop of the salted caramel frosting on top of each. The brownies were delicious and at the end, all the brownies had been eaten! I highly recommend Krumbs Cakes.

I can't rave enough about my experience with Krumbs Cakes. They bent over backward to provide a gorgeous cake for my wife's recent birthday. The decorations were stunningly beautiful, and every aspect, from the moist vanilla cake, to the delectably rich chocolate ganache, and the superbly sweet Italian buttercream was delicious. I can't wait to order my next cake from Krumbs!

Krumbs cakes is our favorite bakery for custom cakes in the Bay Area!! Ever since they baked our wedding cake in 2011, we've been hooked! Their cakes are fluffy, moist, and the ingredients are fresh and high quality and everything is made from scratch. Christian is the friendliest Baker and so easy to work with.
They've also baked cakes for some of our wedding anniversaries, baby showers, baby's 1st birthday, kids birthdays, baptism, graduations, mother's day, father's day, etc.
Some of our favorite flavors are berry filling with chocolate cake, passion fruit filling with coconut cake, prickly pear filling with vanilla cake, and so many more! Also, I've never had a Gluten Free cake that tastes as good as Krumbs'!!
Krumbs has created cakes for us including the following inspired themes: Star Wars, Mexican art, My Little Pony, Mermaids, Pandas, and many others, all of which we have absolutely LOVED!!!

We appreciate how considerate and helpful Christian has been for the past two years! We loved planning our wedding cake with him and our guests enjoyed it so much. On the day of the wedding, our cakes arrived on time and were absolutely beautiful and delicious. One year later, we enjoyed the same cake and cupcakes for our anniversary.

Our wedding cake experience with Krumbs Cakes was perfect, from the beginning of the tasting to the free anniversary cake I picked up today. After my first bite at the tasting I would have signed a contract. After other bakeries had told us they couldn't do strawberry shortcake, for Christian it was no problem. The price was reasonable, and the execution and delivery were flawless. I cannot imagine any way our experience could have been improved. Thank you!

Krumbs Cakes came highly recommended. We went in for a tasting for our wedding. I had prefilled an online form with our request prepared to have a sweet time with my groom-to-be. When we arrived for our appointment, they were not expecting us. Miscommunication on their end. I was hoping for a special experience. The person who did the tasting did her best to accommodate considering the miscommunication, which we appreciated.

We had a Spanish-themed wedding and requested a ruffle around a three tier cake with one inch polka dots (I showed photos).

In order to create the look we wanted for the cake, we needed to go with a fondant icing. Krumb's standard fondant is made with marshmallows. We asked if the gelatin in their marshmallows is vegetarian, they needed to get back to us on that. (Gelatin is made from pig bones. We are vegetarians.) In order to have a vegetarian fondant made for our cake, we were charged an additional $50. I was considering a buttercream frosting per our wedding planner, but it would not create the look we were wanting.

When the cake arrived at our wedding, the ruffle was beautiful but the one inch polka dots, were tiny white pearls evenly spaced in a pattern, not what I requested and shared on the form and in my inspiration images.

Our wedding day was beautiful. The cake looked beautiful (our florist crowed the cake with a cascade of gorgeous flowers), it was delivered on time and we all got to enjoy it. The fondant and pearls were not going to change our joy. However, the communication challenges impacted our rating for this review.
