While the macnuts were great when we tried them at the farmers market, when we purchased a bulk order of freshly roasted macnuts we were left with many pounds of inconsistent quality. This was very different than what we had experienced at the farmers market which were all incredibly fresh and delicious. While the price point is hard to beat per pound, it is unfortunately also offset by the inconsistent quality we saw at larger scale. After discovering Kula Mana at the farmers market we decided to order ~10 pounds directly from the farm to share with family and friends since we had such a good experience.
Unfortunately, about 1/3 of the macnuts we had in this second batch have been a darker color with a stale/chewy off texture. 1 out of 3 macnuts were inedible. We assume good intent and this was not done on purpose but we were left literally with a bad taste in getting a lot less than what we had purchased. We had left the island already when we discovered this unfortunately. While the interactions have all been positive with the farm this very inconsistent quality gives us pause in recommending this to others as there are some serious quality control issues.
