We had such a good time learning about the history of the land and the people of Waimea and the work they're doing to renew the land and teach the next generation about Hawaiian culture and farming practices. It was a lot more interactive than any tour we've taken and it was just the two of us and the tour guide, which we enjoyed. Everyone was so friendly and helpful from the tour guide, Enoka, to the office staff. It was so good meeting everyone and chatting and learning. We highly recommend the tour if you're at all interested in learning about the history of the land and the people.

This tour is a fantastic insight into native Hawaiian history, culture and traditions. You get to visit some incredible unspoilt beautiful places like the river and kalo crop fields and get involved with harvesting the crops, it allows you to understand the importance of native Hawaiian connection to the land, the tour is very enriching and eye opening. I highly recommend for an authentic experience in Hawaii. Thank you so much

Highly recommend booking this experience! I think it should be a must do for anyone visiting Kauai. It was truly one of the best things we have done in all our visits. It started out chatting with our guide, Enoka and getting to know each other. He explained that the goals of the tour were to share stories, gain a deeper understanding of Hawaiian culture, and translate that into a meaningful appreciation and connection to our home.

He gave us background on the history of Waimea and took us to several culturally significant and naturally beautiful locations on a UTV where we learned to Kilo (something we have started doing in our own home now!), and he shared some fascinating Mo'olelo with us about the places that we had never heard before.

Then, we went to visit the farm cared for by the non-profit who sponsors this experience and Enoka shared Hawaiian land management practices with us, more Mo'olelo, and then we tried Taro prepared 3 different ways.

Enoka was open to all of our questions and hearing about some of our cultural practices as well. This was a very unique experience where we had the privilege to get a glimpse at the genuine Hawaii, not what is presented in mainstream tourist establishments.

All in all, you will enjoy this tour if you have an open mind and a curiosity to learn the history and present of this beautiful kingdom (Hawaii). You will walk away from this tour feeling even more in awe of Kauai's abundance and natural beauty AND even more appreciative of your own culture/history/home. Plus, you will be supporting a native Hawaiian owned non-profit that is doing amazing community work. 10/10 recommend!
