What is the good of all your qualities when you do not bother to prewash the kale--like everyone else? I picked your container assuming it was triple washed, like all the othersTo my dismay, it was not prewashed, not even once--leaving it completely at the mercy of listeria and all other contaminants; Customer is on his own, with you, uncertain re how long and how thoroughly it should have been washed; so, folks, this uncertainly takes away from the "savoring" of your produce. I wash greens that claim to be "triple washed", but at least it is reassuring that it has been through a preliminary process, like Taylor Farms and most of the greens at Whole Foods and Moms. With the contamination rate from soil raised greens, its impossible to be sure, but knowing its been "triple washed" is reassuring to anyone.

I signed up for a veggie share from them one year.

Not one tomato in the summer. Not one ear of corn. I got lemongrass one season, though! That was exciting. It was the inedible tops from the lemongrass. The stuff that gets cut off. And I contacted Lancaster, and they said "That's what they sent us." I asked which purveyor, and lo, on that purveyor's website, they had the nice beautiful roots of the lemongrass. The stuff that every recipe calls for. They just sent us the trash and expect us to pay for it. I've never bought a CSA share where I actually feel like they spit in each box and laugh at me in contempt.

Thanks for all the kohlrabi, and other produce you have trouble selling. The AMOUNT of stuff is appropriate for the price, so I charitably gave them a 2nd star. But if you want the actual produce you get excited for seasonally? Don't buy their CSA. Do you want variety? Don't buy their CSA. If you go to a farmer's market or see what they stock in Whole Foods, you'd feel insulted with what they give you. I know I did. It's a shame, because they really do pick wonderful produce of great quality. They just sell it for more money to Whole Foods customers (and restaurant/corporate customers...).

Picked up my Summer Farm share and there was so much good quality, fresh, and really tasty vegetables: they really pack the box to the brim with huge fresh vegetables! I'm super happy with it especially the value because they give you a lot.

I received 2 red lettuce heads that were HUGE and maybe the biggest lettuce heads I've seen in my life, 2 radish bunches, 1 bunch of carrots, 1 bunch of Jerusalem artichokes, 1 bunch arugula, 1 bunch Escarole, and 1 bunch Spinach. Super highly recommend this farm share option.

This is an awesome CSA option if you live anywhere from NYC to Northern VA. Their produce is awesome and they have numerous options beyond veggies. Bread, cheese, fruit, fresh herbs and more. They have so many pick-up locations its super easy to grab your produce each week. I had 3 options within 2 miles from my home in NW DC. Their customer service is also A+. Can't recommend them enough!
