We are a family with 2 teenagers who loved the atmosphere. Great experience, loved the train ride prior to Luau. Dinner was well managed, food was a good (not a huge fan of buffets). Show was captivating, elaborate costumes, fire dancers very entertaining. Center stage made all seats great for viewing show. Beautiful plantation and a must do activity.

We went as group of 11, all adult family members and enjoyed the atmosphere, food and the story/show was awesome. Very entertaining. Transportation was also great. An above par experience for the cost. Would definitely recommend. The art walk (displays) were a nice touch as well and the unwrapping of the pork which was cooked under ground was very tasty!

Great family experience. We chose to do the sit-down dinner next door. After dinner we were escorted to the show where we were offered more desserts and drinks. The show was fabulous, all the entertainers were fantastic!!! We would definitely do it again if we return to Kauai for another vacation. Very talented staff.

Our bus driver Mrs. K set the Atmosphere. As soon as we got picked up we knew it was going to be a great time. The show was outstanding and I think we had the best seats in the theater! Food was great but I think with everything else being outstanding we were expecting the food to be a bit better. It was not bad, by any means. definitely 4 stars with the food.

Bought the gold package and got zero gold perks. Just get the regular pass and save yourself some money. The food was average compared to all the other meals we had this week. Lots of bones in the chicken and most of the food was somewhat bland. Environment and show was pretty cool but the food and lack of “gold” perks was a letdown. It’s like paying for VIP passes and sitting in general admission. Save the money and sit general admission. The table was not even the closest to the show. I had to walk up two tables to take this picture of the group after the show. Hula dancers were fun to watch and they did a good job with that part of the entertainment. Vendors outside are very proud of their products. Most are overpriced for products that look to be somewhat mass produced. Some vendors did have authentic and handmade goods which was cool.

Luau Kalamaku in Lihue is a mixed bag. If you are considering this particular luau, I recommend looking at the other options.
While the location is undeniably beautiful, the food and dinner service left much to be desired. The wait staff was inattentive and were not happy to be there, simply doing the job and hating it. The desserts weren't great and lacked good presentation, particularly the tart, tasted stale. Our first time through the buffet line, the food was nearly depleted and needed replenishing. Once we got food, it was bland and not good for the $$$ going spend.

On the positive side, the check-in process was efficient, and the bar staff was exceptional, ensuring drinks arrived promptly. The grounds are indeed stunning, and the show itself is spectacular. The vendors were nice, but most had overpriced items.
