Absolutely loved the Inside the Hive: Honey & Bee Tour! The bees are totally chill. Our tour guide, Jackson, is so ZEN! I felt completely safe the entire time. Learning about bees and the honey process was fascinating. We had a couple kids in our group and the farm was very welcoming to them. Loved tasting all the samples.

My partner and I had a lovely tour. Mason was our guide and he was articulate, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about their work and products from Lydgate farms. The farm grounds and tour were stunning- like being at a botanical garden. The chocolate and honeys we tasted were so impressive. Highly recommend their tour and tasting experience.

Wonderful tour and property. It was really cool to learn more about cacao (and also vanilla), and some of the locally-grown fruits, and Mac nuts. Tried many varieties of chocolate, several varieties of fruit from the farm, and several offerings of Mac nuts. The house brand chocolate is exceptional, especially the “special edition” bar.

Absolutely one of THE best things we have ever done in our numerous visits to Kaua’i. While not really a good activity for younger kids, this 3-hour tasting tour provides so much great information about chocolate farming, production and other culinary secrets.

Our FANTASTIC HOST, Mason was so engaging and passionate about chocolate and the farm, and provided a steady steam of humor, information and science. We’ve visited chocolate farms in Ecuador and spice farms in Tahiti and Tanzania and none of those visits could hold a candle to Lydgate.

Their artisanal chocolates are so superior (in fact recently awarded one of the best in the world at the Paris “chocolate Olympics”) and you get to taste lots of it during the visit while touring the property, learning about native plants and other crops like vanilla. In between you are seated in open-air, shaded “classrooms” getting schooled on chocolate.

The three hours absolutely flies by-especially with Mason. While the cost seemed high when I booked, I was very well satisfied with the value when it was over-you do a lot of tasting. Afterwards the shop is open and you can purchase items direct to take home, or for $30, have it shipped home. We ended up buying $200 of chocolate we liked it so well.

So spread the word, this is a MUST DO for adults and teens.

Jess was our tour guide and she crushed it! I initially thought 3 hours would be hard to fill but we had so much fun learning about the farm, cacao, and trying different fruits and chocolates. The group had kids and older folks and everyone had a blast. There’s also a little golf cart that can take those with mobility limitations to/from each of the covered stops.

We had a brilliant time at Lydgate farms. Mason was our tour guide and he was extremely knowledgeable but also very funny which kept the tour very entertaining. We got to try lots of different chocolate from all over the world, along with some local fruits and of course the fresh cocoa grown on the farm which was incredible. The farm is an extremely magical place to visit and I’d highly recommend a visit!

This tour was great! I don't remember our guide's name but she was very knowledgeable and she guided us through our fruity honey chocolaty adventure (take the tour and you'll understand 😝). Seriously a great three hours. I highly recommend. And raw chocolate seeds!! Did you ever think you would taste such a thing And of course, the über friendly farm kitty is an absolute doll!
