The people were extremely friendly, very proud of their organic food business, and very happy to share their expertise. The samples were very tasty, and we also got to try their passsionfruit and see their homegrown breadfruit.

We had a very large portion of gelato for $5.

It was a wonderful experience, and we are looking forward to visiting the farm next time.

They are one of the original chocolate producers on the Island, having been in production for over 40 years.

The owner was there and I got to try 3 yummy chocolates from the samples on the counter. I loved all three:
70% Dark Chocolate
Spicy (nice spicy 🌶 kick)
Ka’u (contained Ka’u coffee nibs)

I then went on to buy 2 chocolate bars, macadamia nuts and Coconut Truffles.

Amazing chocolate store!!! We are visiting from Honolulu and found Mahi'ai Made down the street from Two Ladies Kitchen. It's family owned and run. They grow their own cacao and make their chocolate right in the store. Super helpful and kind people.

Absolute hidden gem. Then run tours of their nearby farm and you can see the kitchen where they make the chocolate. Lovely small scale operation. Really friendly people.

Amazing chocolate!! It smells incredible in there. The cacao is grown less than 3 miles away! That's really special.
I got to meet Tom while he was roasting beans and it was dope to see part of the process.
I love the little patio.

This little store is a gem in Hilo! You can get delicious, locally-made chocolate, chocolate-covered nuts, and try samples of chocolate! It doesn't get more local than this: You can see the chocolate being made right behind the counter. Plus, the cacao coms from a farm right outside of Hilo. I highly recommend taking the tour at the farm; for $30 per person, it is definitely worth it to see the entire cacao process and learn about sustainable farming. I was impressed by the owner/manager's knowledge and enjoyed learning about Hawaii-grown produce.

Stopped in here for coffee and ended up buying a bunch of their chocolates too! Got an iced Tiger Shark latte and for me it was perfect! It’s definitely on the sweeter side but that’s how I typically take my coffee. They take card and you can watch them make the chocolate as it’s a cozy shop.

I did photographs for Mahi'ai Made as part of a GoFarm program and received a tour of their farm from Tom and Oona, wow! A stunning agroforestry oasis and the best cacao powder and chocolate bars I've ever had. Mahalo to this wonderful 'ohana for having me.
