My daughter landed her first career professional job in NYC. We aren’t cake people but I know she loves sushi. I called for something special and gave my budget. HOLY COW IT WAS AMAZING! They did such a great job and some members of my family who never had sushi tried and loved it! Thanks so much Alice & Matsu! ❤️❤️❤️

If I could give 6 stars, I will. One of the freshest sushi around with great consistency. The owner, Alice, is especially nice. She makes sure her customers are happy and receives good quality food. Good integrity and honest business person. I am a sushi foodie and this is one of the best mid-range priced Japanese restaurant I’ve been to. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for good value Japanese cuisine.

I love Matsu, and will always keep ordering from them, however the katsu is now more expensive, and I felt like I got far less. it doesn't even come with the sauce anymore nor does it get cut. Suffice to say it's disappointing to see because I've never had a bad experience with Matsu until these changes.

Underrated gem in Hillsdale!! Came here with my family and we had a great experience. We ordered the sushi and sashimi platter for two, and omg the fish was so fresh and tasty. We also ordered crispy shrimp salad to share and WOW that was a standout. The dressing they used was this creamy mustard dressing that was the best part of the salad…if they sold bottles of it, I’d buy it!!

Service was excellent. Absolutely my new favorite sushi place!

Went for Thanksgiving diner, my roommate invited me to come to the dinner. And I am so glad I went. This is my first Thanksgiving in the US. Owner is so nice and caring, i felt like a family and in a part of it. Lovely people. A very happy Thanksgiving to all 🎊

My wife and I have dined in the restaurant only once, which was a fine experience, but we order out from Matsu every week (and sometimes twice!) so this review is truly dedicated to the fresh sushi and sashimi offerings at Matsu. We moved to town from the city and were worried we wouldn't find good, fresh, delicious sushi out in the 'burbs. How wrong we were! We were pleasantly surprised (shocked, really) by the delicate and delicious sashimi that Matsu meticulously prepares. Go for the Treasure Island, the Sashimi Delux, and any of the rolls. The owner is also super nice and people should know how delicious her restaurant's food is!!

The place was beautiful. The food was good I enjoyed it and the service was so kind. I actually had a good time and l think that people should totally come here. If you consider coming here I hope you have a good time.
