My husband and I enjoyed touring the Plumeria Garden! Learning all about them from growing our own seeds, planting a cutting and all the contributors to a successful growth with blooms, pollination, etc! Doug was very knowledgeable and kind to show us around answering any questions we had! We got to pick as many flowers as we wanted and enjoy them for the next day as well! One of our favorite things we did on Maui for sure!!

The plumeria farm tour is unique, beautiful and probably the best smelling tour on Maui. Doug has been farming plumeria for several decades and this is his lower south-facing field that he uses to supply nearly all the plumeria used for leis on Maui.
Doug is so passionate about plumeria and collects and grows them from around the world. Did you know that each seed in a plumeria pod is a hybrid and will produce a unique plant and that the only way to grow the identical variety is to cut and plant the cutting until it grows into a new tree?
Plumeria are really easy to propagate if you follow a set of simple steps and keep them at higher than 65 degrees and don’t pack them with soil and don’t water them too often. See - I learned a lot!
Take the tour - you’ll leave with a bucket full of blossoms and if you put a bunch in a pot with a bit of water and into the refrigerator- you’ll have blossoms for days. Happiest tour I’ve taken in years.

huuuge recommendation to go here if you’re a tourist on maui looking for plumeria cuttings! doug the owner is incredibly knowledgeable about his stuff and accommodated my friends and i last minute on VALENTINE’S DAY (so naturally, the busiest day of the year for florists) and was able to sell me a cutting and give my party of 7 a tour of his farm despite being low on time.

he showed us every variety of plumeria he grows and could answer all of our questions with ease! also gave us tons of flowers picked from the trees and a freebie cutting alongside the one i wanted 🙂

My wife grows plumerias so she found this farm and tour in Maui. We were absolutely amazed at all the varieties of plumeria trees here and definitely recommend the tour which is only an hour but you get to carry a bucket and take flowers from all the trees. We came home with two bucket fulls. The owner, Doug, has a wealth of plumeria growing knowledge and a genuine joy in sharing that and helping other growers to have their plants flourish. Doug is very personable and delivers any cuttings you buy from his website right to your hotel. We will definitely be keeping in touch with Doug to help our new additions to our garden flourish.

The host was incredible, educational, funny and just wonderful to be around. For the affordable cost, you absolutely cannot beat this experience. It's very hot so wear a hat and bring water. You get to leave with buckets of flowers you can pick yourself. My kids were in heaven. We will 100% be buying cuttings for this spring. I didn't know we can grow them indoors!

Such an interesting tour. I had no idea that there were so many varieties of plumeria. Doug was so informative and made the tour interesting. I’m going to bring some back to california and try to grow them. Wish me luck. If you are looking fir something to do while in Maui l, highly recommend you go there.
