Excellent grocery store only for veterans or active duty military. I take my 94 year old father there to shop. It's a nice perk for vets who risked their lives to protect the USA. My Dad is a combat veteran of the Korean War. Plenty of parking and attendants are there to bag your groceries and help take them out and put them in your car. Produce is fresher than fresh, and meat always looks terrific.

I usually stop here from my half and half and milk and other items that usually cost about $1 more at a regular grocery store prices for milk and half and half are just about the same as Costco. The meat selection is not the best quality but the price is match the quality which is good. The selection of items in the commissary is great huge store and nice convenience when you're on base and you're heading home and you don't want to drive up to acme and get charged an arm and a leg to buy the same thing you could buy before you leave base always friendly service for the most part

Everything is great until self checkout. Every machine is taken by someone with a full cart that has at minimum 60 items and they take their sweet ass time while a huge line forms and I wait for 20 minutes just to get to a machine with my 5-6 items. I spend more time waiting for a checkout machine than I do walking around the entire store to get my items that are even on opposite sides of the store. There should be a maximum amount of items you can checkout yourself because you're wasting my time waiting in line and your own time taking longer than an actual clerk would - THEIR JOB IS TO CHECK OUT YOUR 60 ITEMS FOR YOU. None of the workers in the store care that there are 30 people waiting in the self checkout line, something needs to change with this.

Honestly this store is garbage. The store director has ran it into the ground. You have to double check all food to make sure it isn't expired. The fruits and veggies arent worth buying there. The rot a day after getting them. The meat is 50/50 on it if it last more then a day or two. Milk expires a few days after you buy it. Half the staff is rude as hell. A lot of the items don't have pricing. Honestly, it's better to shop at Walmart, target or Sam's.

My very first visit, and you definitely feel very safe!
I discovered that I was eligible to use it, due to service connected disability? The commissary and BX are huge and very clean, I expected nothing less. According to my main buyer (my wife), the prices were not as attractive as we thought they'd be given that military personnel don't make a lot of money? Some reasonable buys in fresh meats, bacon and a few other products, but not worth our trip. I hope they do better with their prices in the future, Military families need a financial break. We plan on visiting the Lakehurst commissary, much smaller, but a lot closer. Stay tuned for my review.

there are some people that dont want to tip the baggers on top of the cost of groceries. They should have a self checkout for people that want to bag their own groceries that have more than 15 items

The prices are creeping up, the surcharge is the same as tax off base, but, the service is almost always nice and it’s so wonderful not to have to bag your own groceries!
