DO NOT TRUST THE WEIGHTS AT THE MEAT MARKET!!
We have been purchasing ground pork from them for several weeks. The meat is good quality and they grind it for you on demand. However, today we paid for 2.47 lbs of pork and only received 2.1 lb. I only discovered this because I was dividing the meat into 3 equal portions for freezing. I had calculated the weight of each portion in advance and was weighing them out. The 3rd portion turned out to be much less than expected!
What's more, when I brought the meat back, they refused to either refund me or make up the difference, claiming that since I had opened the bag and started dividing it, my claim was not valid. What am I supposed to do, bring my own scale to the market every time to confirm that I'm getting what I'm paying for?
I do not consider this place trustworthy, and neither should you.

UPDATE: I called the manager the next day. She didn't apologize, but on the phone, she offered an extra pound of meat to cover the difference. When I arrived at the store, though, she had gone, and the cashier said she had been instructed to just give me the difference in cash. So two extra trips to the store for $1.40, and I doubly don't trust this business. They short you on the weight AND they don't keep their promises.

Another Update: The County office of weights and measures left a message with me, saying they checked the scales at Mi Rancho, and they are accurate. I'm sure that what happened was that the butcher weighed the meat before he ground it, some of the meat was left in the grinder, and I was charged for what was left behind. I don't agree with this practice, or at least it should be disclosed before they grind the meat.

This place is horrible, customer service is horrible. Went in to buy shrimp but was overcharged and was given bad shrimp. Called in for a manager and the lady ended the call.

With all do respect, to me this place has been a wonderful store including the staff and the merchandise. To Gary Lee, please it was just $1.40 cents, do you know that food is not going to be the same weight If the food is frozen is going to melt, if you ask to ground the meat, the meat is not going to weight the same. Use your logic, all markets are the same. Any where you go will be the same. If you need your $1.40 cents, with all do respect, I’ll be glad to send it to you. Santa Clara County states said weights were accurate. When we ask for a piece of meat to be ground it is going to be less. Have a bless a evening everyone.

The best butcher shop in town. Check out all the fresh meat they sell. It was very affordable. The good thing here is that you can approach the butcher to cut the meat you like. Highly recommended!
