High quality sushi. Definitely a local spot. They were very generous with the proportion of fish to rice. Best sushi we have ever had. You can tell they only use the freshest fish. Shrimp tempora roll had fresh crab (not imitation). Miso butter fish was a large portion and literally melts in your mouth. The favors were amazing.

This is nothing like the one in Kihei. Very small, not authentic, just going through the motions. Sushi is all about the care put into it. There was none here. My butter fish was beyond burnt and I was told it was caramelized. Not impressed with this location.

On our trip to Maui we finally tried the most talked about sushi restaurant Miso Phat Sushi. We are very impressed with the quality of fish and how fresh it is.
Very small place and very busy, and little pricey but it was well worth it.
The staff were very efficient and fast, and they make you feel at home.
Every dish we order was awesome.
We had the honor to meet the owner and he was awesome.
Definitely will be back on our next trip.

ABSOLUTELY TO DIE FOR!!!!!
I’ve heard about this place for years so I knew that we’d be going to a tiny little place (I’d heard years ago they only accepted cash but they accept card now lol. That probably majorly dates my knowledge), possibly with a long wait but amazing food. It was AMAZING! We went kinda late on a Monday night and the wait was only 12-22 minutes after checking in on their little computer screen. Super fast. Got sat at the bar where the gal was cutting fish and making rolls. Food AND entertainment! It was amazing to see how fresh the fish was!! Our waiter was freakin on the ball, no nonsense. Helped us decide on three rolls right away and even recommended one not on the menu that had three local catches..? IT WAS HEAVEN! We also got the tempura roll and the famous one from diners and drive-ins or whatever. They were all phenomenal and HUGE. The rolls came out FAST and my husband and I left full. 10/10 will return next trip and will tell everyone else to go here. It was amazing!!

I’m not sure who, how and why gave them this many reviews and stars but it was the worst sushi I’ve ever had. I’ve never seen a garlic edamame with garlic powder instead of real garlic before but I guess there is first time for everything. We came from LA and we’re staying in the south of the island, so we drove an hour just to have brown avocado, fat, ricey rolls and a little bit of fish inside! Shameful!

I have heard about Miso Phat from family for a year now and finally was able to experience the hype and it did not let me down at all! The restaurant is very small and has around 6 tables and a large sushi bar you can sit at. The staff does great at getting everyone in and seated in a timely manner but I do suggest going a few minutes before open as there was a short line when we showed up before the store opened for the day.

We started off with hand rolls and they were the best hand rolls that I have had. The seaweed wrap was easy to bite through and held a ton of flavor. My favorite was the Softshell crab hand roll. The sushi was also great, some of the freshest seafood I have ever had. The TNT roll is a crab roll topped with ahi poke which was a roll featured on diners, drive-ins, and dives. The poke was so tender and delicious, and all of their seafood is caught fresh on the ‘Shisho Fat’ boat that supplies the restaurant.

The sushi was to die for — and worth the wait. No reservations or ability to call ahead so if you go to dinner during prime time, be prepared. But we loved our meals. And BYOB worked in our favour too. Also got the cutest little Miso Phat t-shirt to take home for our little guy.

Overall, it was a good experience. We loved the name and thought it was hilarious! The wait wasn’t very long and they made our food extremely fast! We had the miso phat roll which was really really good! We also each got a Poké bowl and to be honest that was just OK. Very, very basic. I’ve had much better Poké bowls from food trucks. With all of that said… I’d go back.
