Great little store. Has everything you need considering it’s a small town, even diapers and laundry detergent pods. Quick 10min drive from black sand beach (where we stayed). It’s nice to have that convenience when you feel like you’re away from everything! And no, you don’t have to wear a mask as I have read on previous reviews

Who says this place is great? Depressing selection of processed, boxed foods. A scary selection of off-colored meats. A limited selection of fresh produce and vegetables. Unless potato chips, boxed cakes and cookies are your thing, be sure to buy food from Hilo before coming out this way.

Awesome local produce at a good price. Kale bunch for 3.89. They even have yeast for making bread. Toiletries and frozen food items. Cold drinks, snacks and beer. Accepts WIC VOUCHER, EBT BENEFITS. Open till 7 on the weekdays.

So much to choose from in this cute, old fashioned small town store, it brings back memories of the old days.
Located in remote little Pahala, I think this store should be designated a landmark.

You can slip into Mizuno's Superette to pick up groceries. But make sure you are ready for a heavy mark-up in price. This is understandable as first groceries need to travel to the island then the folks at Mizuno's need to have them trucked all the way from Hilo or Kona to Pahala. This all adds to the cost. There is a reasonable selection of produce considering. You'll be able to buy garlic, russet potatoes, leaf and romaine lettuce, carrots and a few local favourites. The staff are mostly friendly and will assist you to find items. Eggs and milk are very expensive so be prepared. There is a quiet group of locals who hang out in front of the store talking story.
