I love wine so when the husband said we are going to visit his family, I was on a mission to find a winery in the area!

Well .. nestled between the mountains i discovered Mountainrose Vineyard 😀 It's one of the 3 South-Virginia wineries!

Indoors they have a large area with tables and goodies, you can get cheeses n crackers n meats to snack on while tasting! Outside there is a front n back area, we sat outback n enjoyed the mountain breeze!

O.P. Was amazing. She made us feel comfortable and engaged throughout our wine tasting . We stayed two hours and she kept us informed and laughing. Loved that she kept recommending local places for us to visit while in the area. Just what we needed.

This small vineyard is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, David, the owner, his mom, and their friend Opie (who works with them) made us feel like part of the family. They were all so warm and welcoming, and Opie was especially lovely to chat with and David's mom showed me beautiful tatted tablecloths and joined us as we talked about my "old lady hobby" of needle tatting.

We had such a unique experience picking grapes, enjoying a wine tasting, and learning about their amazing cider—which, by the way, is only sold in Virginia and worth every sip! The winery is three hours away from us, but anytime we’re within an hour of it, we’ll definitely make a detour to stock up on a case (or two) of that cider to take home. The holidays have greatly reduced our stash.

My only regret is that we’re not closer, because their events like paint and sip classes sound like so much fun. If you’re looking for great wine, incredible cider, and a truly personal experience, this is the place to go!

My wife and I went to Farm to Table event it was so amazing the tour was nice and educational. The wine tasting was great and the dinner was some of the best food I have every had. I tried the new hard cider it was very good as well.
