Walking inside in the morning of this bakery felt like I was greeted by my own mother who had just made breakfast for me! The staff was great and very friendly and their pastries were delicious! Budget friendly and they had a variety of sandwiches, and treats!

Definitely get their early when they open so you can beat the morning rush. I recommend their churro doughnuts and Butter Horn! A great place to stop by if you want a warm breakfast to have before hiking up at the National Volcano Park.

Get here early if you want croissants. They tend to sell out around 9-10am

A must visit if coming to Big Island or Hilo. We drove here all the way from Kona twice during our 1 week stay.

Our fav is the original taro mochi donut. All the other mochi donut flavors, though good, tend to be too sweet for our Asian taste. The donuts have such a pleasant mochi chewy texture and are very dense! If you have an air fryer, toast them for a bit and they get all hot and crispy—delicious!

We also love the pastrami croissants.

We got there late morning and there wasn’t much left which was expected. We bought a variety of mochi doughnuts and a danish. They were all very good. Just the right texture and flavors for the taro and chocolate mochi doughnuts but for me the lilikoi was a bit too sweet. Really, the best part was the doughnut itself. Not greasy, not hard like some others I’ve tried. It was moist, mildly sweet, and really fresh. The danish was good too. Soft, buttery, and perfectly baked.

One of the last true bakeries on the big island. Home of the original "Mtn View Stone Cookies " I especially love to have these with my morning cup of coffee. I like to dip it inside my coffee to soften it a little. Their butter rolls are good to, if you get there early enough, they sell out fast.

I was really hesitant to leave a review.... why.....
Because it's already hard enough to get these doughnuts, and if I tell you how amazing this place is.....I'm really not sure there will be any left for me! Haaaaa....but seriously!

They may somewhat look like a regular doughnut, but let me tell you.....they are very, very far from it.

The mochi texture, the flavor.....I mean I sometimes dream about these doughnuts!
My favorite is the watermelon.....if you get lucky enough to try one....you will NEVER eat anyone else's mochi doughnuts! I actually promise you this....

So try not to tell too many people....and leave some for Lali.....oh... and don't get there too late because they will sell out!

Unbelievably nice people sharing with you their hard work and positivity - it is a working open kitchen so you can see how much hard work and creativity goes into their stuff. Without doubt, their mochi donuts cannot be missed in this lifetime. It is an ethereal culinary experience beyond description. Fluffy tender mochi donuts and stone cookies defy our expectation.
