It is a small nondescript location best suited for take-out. If you want to dine-in they have a small seating area with large glass storefront windows that offer a little people-watching and some respite from the periodic rain. Service was fast; the male employee was very friendly but the female employee only seemed to cheer up when her friend walked in. The dishes themselves looked and tasted fresh and complex. The "nachos" were not disappointing despite the fact that 1. nachos are one of my favorite foods and 2. I am not vegetarian (let alone vegan); but I do like vegetables.
I liked the personal attention of my pour-over coffee but admittedly am a fake sugar user so the agave nectar didn't make my coffee taste the way I like.
It's obvious that the owners love what they do and I hope they are successful at it. If they can keep the prices reasonable and the quality up they should do well.

The care and attention-to-detail given to the ingredients was impressive. Each ingredient had a story as to why it was particularly good to eat on that particular day. The pears were likely the best I will eat all year.
Not a vegan and dont care to be one, but this food was delicious and sticks out as a good memory from our trip.
The shop is in the bottom of a two story building next to the Island Naturals Grocery store in Pahoa. Eat here on your way to get up close and personal with the Lava at HVNP.

Brand New Plant based Restaurant In Pahoa.. Amazing Place! The owners are amazing, delightful and passionate.
All organic and local produce with sustainable resources/products. So happy that Pahoa has a completely Vegan restaurant. Best of Luck!! 😍

I had Ulu pancakes the first visit. SO yum and I didn't have the standard "vega-stress" ordering from their earth friendly menu because they don't use any animal products. They also source local, fresh produce so the menu is always evolving. Mahalo for this dietary refuge Suze and Mike!

Finally an excellent vegetarian cafe in a county with thousands of vegetarians! This place rocks the food is excellent, the quality of ingredients top notch and a super cute and friendly couple running the place.
