The folks that I’ve encountered at this store are terrible. If you don’t want to assist customers, quit. But don’t make it miserable for others. Luckily I have options of where to spend my money and it will no longer be here. I’m against a TSC but I bet their staff would at least be kind to the customer.

I’ve debated posting this review because I love small businesses and supporting them but this place needs to make some changes. I’ve shopped at pretty much every farm and garden store in humboldt county from garberville to arcata and never had issues anywhere except Nilsens. What is the point of having a loading dock if your workers don’t load the stuff into your vehicle for you? This hasn’t happened once or twice but every single time I have shopped here. I can literally back my truck in right up to the loading dock and have the tailgate down and your workers just drop whatever it is and walk away. They did the same thing to my wife when she was 8 months pregnant. I’m not sure if it’s pure laziness or stupidity but everywhere else loads your stuff for you even if they don’t have a loading dock. Get it together guys, I’m going to give it one more try before I start shopping somewhere else for my twice a month supplies.

The chickens sell out fast. Get an order sheet (ask for it at the counter) in spring and show up the day they arrive. There is a message board behind the store if you are looking for livestock. VT PS my prior review (about 7 years ago) was regarding a defective wheel barrow. The former manager made an issue. I am now happy with the store.

They are ok for where they are located. The have been their for a long time. They have good service. Decent prices. And a little of everything. Like alfalfa, grass hay, feed grains, baby chicks, tack.
