Simple step-by-step directions:

1) Turn onto CL Schmitt Bridge
2) At end of bridge, turn right and stay on the loop
3) turn left on industrial boulevard
4) turn left onto 3rd avenue
5) turn right onto 14th street
6) turn left onto Horne boulevard
7) turn right onto Frey st then IMMEDIATELY left onto Dr Thomas boulevard
8) turn left at Smithfield sign, park to your left (red cirlce on attached image) and check in a guard shack (yellow circle).

Trailer MUST be pre-cooled to -10 and very clean. Very fast loading, took 20-30 minutes.

For new drivers: don’t worry, there are “truck route” arrows put up after the bridge for you to follow. Preplan your trip and follow the signs and you’ll be fine.

Please! Please! Please! Make sure you follow truck route signs. Ignore your gps and follow truck routes. The guy on the picture is a driver waiting for his ticket for not using truck route and ended up damaging overhead cables on his way down the hill. When getting out ask guard to give you a copy of printed directions on how to get out. When leaving, your first turn should be a right. Consider coming here during the day than at night. Otherwise everything was ok apart from getting getting here and holding my paper work for 1hr after being loaded. Excellent staff right from security to shipping & receiving. And by the way, the loaded me earlier.

Make sure you get here on time or before your appointment. Get your trailer washed out with soap before coming here. They stop loading at 13:30 (01:30pm) so you will be made towait till the next day to get loaded. Like everyone says do not follow your gps you will get stuck,wreck something, and get a ticket the pic i included is the way into the plant. Its pretty easy just take it slow. After you get here park on the left and walk to guard to check in.

Little tricky route.do not follow gps.after CL Schmitt bridge keep right follow Arnold signs.at stop sign 🛑 turn left.on 3rd ave turn left.14th st turn right go straight for Horne st and make left.turn right on T point and quick left.go forward and left side is truck park. Name on place is Smithfield.

When u come over bridge immediately loop round to your right which will take u under bridge. U then make a left n follow truck route signs. DON'T USE GPS

Do not use your GPS. You might want your tandems slammed forward before you snake through this town. Follow the truck route after you cross the CL Schmitt Bridge and bang a hard right off the bridge, keep going right until you do a compete 270° underneath the same bridge. You will be running through a residential neighborhood. The right turn onto 14th St from 3rd Ave is no joke, you will need to use the entire intersection and hang it out wide for 20 or 30 feet so you can clear the corner. The locals seem to be used to it. Overnight parking OK.

Awesome experience every time. MAKE SURE YOUR TRAILER IS WASHED OUT AND YOU HAVE RECEIPTS. Pre cool to -10. Town is a little tight but just fallow truck rout signs. Sign out front says Smithfield. I’ve delivered live unloads and picked up live loads. Always on time every time. Overnight parking for 5-8 trucks depending on how many pre loaded trailer they have parked. Park then check in at guard shack. Security guard that works nights is an awesome funny guy like to talk with people.

A bit tough to get the plant. I was close but GPS couldn't get to the location. I phone the guard and he he took the time to talk me in. Everyone was friendly enough. Once there the guard gave me printed instructions for leaving and reaching the plant. They gave me a couple of menus for two local restaurants to call if I was hungry. Unloading didn't take long for my load. A small parking lot is available and access to a bathroom.
